Holy shit…this miniseries is so fucking good. Ethan Hawke as John Brown is some top tier acting.
My 30th birthday is in 3 days. I’m totally feeling fine about it.
Granted I’m a Gregg Araki fan already, but this is one my new favourite sex comedies. Very much updating and expanding on the ideas in Secretary and 80s erotic thrillers. Go see it if you are able.
Star Wars Extended Universe Media: “…And that’s why Obi Wan used to hang out with a giant bird man who went on to own a space diner. I know all 12 of you were demanding how exactly this relationship came about.”
Mamdani hasn’t done ANYTHING but Trump literally said this the day of:
Favourite film of the year so far. It’s best not knowing much and just letting it unfold.
@mark-carney.bsky.social foreshadowing. #cdnpoli From Colonialism & Capitalism. Canada’s Origins 1500-1890 by Bryan D Palmer.
The Dominion (from Star Trek) to Canadian Conservatives: “Are we a joke to you?”
Defying Pride convention by not wearing colour at gay pub trivia tonight. Might be shunned by the Gay Elite.
Not a lot of competition but contender for my favourite film of the year and one of the best horror romances I’ve ever seen. Best queer film I’ve seen for Pride Month hands down.
If every Indigenous person willfully consented to their land being abused like this, why does the Canadian government historically and currently use force to suppress dissent?
Shout to the choice to make the killer chimp an actor in a very convincing suit and the chimp actor himself.
I can’t stress enough how much this film is so my kind of trash.
I get how this sounds but The Exorcist TV show on Fox is actually the best continuation of the Exorcist.
#Nowreading: by @astrokatie.com I’m very curious what ‘heat death of the universe’ actually means outside indie rock lyrics and Doctor Who jokes.
My therapist: “The snowman sculptures on Gerrard St can’t hurt you.” The snowman sculptures on Gerrard St:
I know. You had Michael Keaton doing fun things like being a stay at home dad and terrorizing yuppie landlords.
By credible definitions, what Canada is doing is militarism. 🤷♂️
If I can think of one geographic region on this planet that has felt like it’s been in constant military, religious, monarchical, revolutionary, exploitative and geopolitical conflict for this past 5000 years which definitely has spilled into other geographic regions….
Whenever people question the present of people of colour being represented in Ancient History, it makes me realize that racism makes people literally unable to read a map and draw some logical conclusions about human migration.
This film is one of the most intense and viscerally uncomfortable films I’ve seen in the past 5 years. Jfc….this actually rattled me in ways I didn’t expect.
It’s kind of funny that this is also basically his role as Francis Preston Blair, one of the original architects of the Republican Party and adviser to young upstart Abraham Lincoln, in Spielberg’s Lincoln (2012) too.
#NW: it’s a 70s comedy so it could go a lot of ways between being subversive or having aged horribly.
