Born in NE. Married to Jeff. Have a boatload of adult children and currently living on an acreage in AL. I digitize patterns for embroidery machines and sell them on Etsy. Also working on a trilogy. With dragons.
Looking for the owner, or even a permanent placement. This young (intact) male German Shepherd showed up at our house about a month ago. We are on the border, near-ish Wedowee, AL and Franklin, GA. We are on the list for the no-kill shelter, but he needs a true home. Intelligent and sweet.
Look what came in the mail today!!! I've already promised to loan it out to several people when I finish reading: The Harmony of Falling Snow A Polyamorous Romantasy by Andrea Brokaw. @andybwriting.bsky.social (I was a beta reader and I KNOW it's fantastic!!)
I spent the better part of the last 10 days laying tile, grouting, and cleaning ONE ROOM. It was HARD and it made me really appreciate people who can do this on a regular basis. I think if more people tried their hand at some of these jobs, they would be more open to higher wages in general.
I just watched this Monster High movie with my kid and laughed at how hard they trolled Trump. The evil designer with no talent takes on "an Apprentice", threatens to fire them--just basically acts like T during that "reality" show. She even had his swoopy hair!
Read this today. It's YA and hits pretty hard. It was written in 2013, the girl is from a "future" of 2027, and she awakes 100 years in the future. The author describes a "Fundamentalist War" that turned the US into a third world country by 2127. Worth a read.
Three Valentines ago I got my 2nd favorite V day gift ever. (The first fave was my daughter, in 2001.) Mali is still my sweet baby.
I LOVED this movie and am now reading the book. BOTH of them are mind-bending and revolutionary. The movie focused more on feminism, but I am getting more politics/class wars from the book. Highly recommend both.
This is hanging in my room at the Doubletree I'm staying at. I don't know if I like it, but the fact that I am questioning if I like Hotel art makes me -realize this IS art And --makes me happy that someone chose something that wasn't beige and "safe" for a neutral space.
Maybe we can taunt Cheetolini into doing his inauguration sans coat....
If you lost all your cookbooks in a horrible tragedy, which one would you replace immediately? I've bought this one multiple times--it's a great gift for new cooks. It gives basic recipes, but with so many variations. I feel like it kind of taught me to cook, rather than follow recipes.
This book will open anyone's eyes. It's a dystopian novel set in our near, cataclysmic future.
Just finished my in-laws' Xmas gifts: machine embroidered hoodies with an image of their dog. Pattern by etsy creator CRAFTYHOUNDDESIGNS.
I've been listening to albums on headphones. Track 4 of side 2 of the Beatles' White Album seems to echo the current sentiment about our oligarchy.
I have the idea but not the skills. Can someone put "President Musk and the Convicted Felon" in place of the title and switch out the faces?
