Dentalism. Had to get a crown on tooth 31 this week after breaking a 13 year-old MOD filling. The anesthetic wore off about halfway through the prep, which made for an unpleasant but equally interesting experience. Still sore today. Final crown delivery in 10 days.

"Credit to CMs Kettle and Rivera for standing up for AFFORDABILITY by pushing back on Mayor Wilson's proposed *doubling* of the city’s regressive transit sales tax. She argued increasing the rate from .15% to .3% was necessary because "the cost of everything is going up."

But here's the thing: a sales tax is a percentage of prices, so it's inflation-indexed by design: when prices rise, revenue from the rate rises with them automatically.

So inflation is a misdirect, a neutral-sounding word standing in for "we want twice the money."

That may be fine -- expanding transit is important -- but consider that in some years Metro hasn't even been able to spend all the money Seattleites pay for the additional service _and_ the fact that bus ridership is still only 70% of what it was pre-pandemic.

Kettle's amendment, co-sponsored by Rivera, would've capped the rate at .22%. It failed at the STD meeting week 7 to 2."

Right turns are allowed for general vehicle traffic, I believe SDOT had an outdated map on their website for a while. The only restriction is for "combination trucks" - this has been in place since 2021. It's because of the areaways under the street there.
