He set her up in his new apartment, high up in low-weight, gave her a free hand, and allowed her to retain her former name of Chloe. The other was a maiden, untrained and wild as a mutie. Hugh could not have told himself why he picked her. Certainly she had no virtues, but—she made him feel funny. She had bitten him while he was inspecting her; he had slapped her, naturally, and that should have been an end to the matter. But he sent word back later for her father to send her along.

Folks don't realize how outdoor workers are treated by big-box businesses... Scene: me, after work, with a half-empty backpack, trying to buy a bunch of supplies at Walmart. Wearing a big straw hat, a sun shirt, shorts. Very tanned. Treated like a thief by security. Bastards. Left a review: 41/🧵

An absolutely terrible experience. I came in with my work backpack: small, containing only a book and a water bottle. I had intended to spend several hundred dollars on various supplies, having just moved to Phoenix. The employee at the entrance told me backpacks were not allowed (but purses are okay?..) and that I was welcome to leave it outside the store doors - where it would *definitely* get stolen during the hour+ I planned to shop.

When I asked for a compromise, he called the head of their Loss Prevention, who stepped out with two rent-a-cops smirking at me behind her back. She refused to budge, or to let me store my backpack in their office - even after I pointed out yet again that I wanted to spend several hundred dollars in their store. I have never had that sort of experience in any Walmart in the US, Canada, or overseas.

Absolutely disgusting. Do not shop here.

I'm very very excited to announce that my film "Please Don't Send Help" will be part of this year's Wild Indie Sci-Fi & Fantasy Film Festival in London! (Or WISFFF for friends.) The selected version is actually a compressed cut - only two minutes long! I called it "Please... Don't Send Help" 😉
