James Bacon gave a fascinating talk at the National Library of Ireland this evening, about banned comics. His new book, A SENSUAL CESSPOOL OF INIQUITY launches at Dublin Comic Con this weekend.
Wrapping things up at 4pm on Sunday, James Bacon discussing the portrayal of Irish Republicanism in 20th century comics - the subject of his first book, IRISH COMICS IN CONFLICT.
On Sunday at 2pm, @seamuswritescomics.bsky.social is back in the panel room to talk to @reesehanniganart.bsky.social, @ramosland.bsky.social and @rickeypurdin.bsky.social about Marvel Art Atelier. Reese is the first Irish artist to have been selected for the programme!
At 5pm on Saturday, @seamuswritescomics.bsky.social talks to @artofcolmgriffin.bsky.social and @barcswow.bsky.social about adapting video games into comics.
We have FOUR panels and talks at the convention next weekend. First up, at 1pm on Saturday, @garymoloney.bsky.social moderates a panel on Writing for Comics, including @phillipkjohnson.bsky.social, @aaronlosty.bsky.social and @paulcarroll.bsky.social.
New art is on its way from @mcguinnessjohn.bsky.social, perfect for fans of X-Men, Persona and Metal Gear Solid. John's art also features in OLD GAME PLUS #2 and on the cover of A SENSUAL CESSPOOL OF INIQUITY.
Not strictly a Limit Break book, but @paulcarroll.bsky.social is launching his brand new novel STATE OF DESPAYRE! It's his first non-comic launch since the Before Times (and the longest novel in the series to date!)
Following on the success of his first book, James Bacon is back with A SENSUAL CESSPOOL OF INIQUITY, exploring the censorship of comics in Ireland from the 1950s.
We have several books launching at the weekend, and new art to share. First up, @seamuswritescomics.bsky.social's OLD GAME PLUS #2. Six stories inspired by 2000s video games, with a stacked line up of creators working with him.
