For 50 years, Hamilton's Native Women's Centre has been a safe haven for women experiencing crisis, providing compassion and support. I was honoured to join their celebration and thank Executive Director Danielle Ridge, and the dedicated staff and volunteers for their commitment to our community.

Cuteness overload for 14 Canada Summer Jobs recipients who landed work at the Hamilton/Burlington SPCA! I loved hearing about all they have learned so far, and was thoroughly charmed by Olive, who is looking for her fur-ever home.

Such a fun menu at Festival Creamery on Concession Street! I had the legendary Dole Whip, but the New Zealand real fruit ice cream and funnel cakes also look amazing. It’s a great addition to Hamilton Mountain and has become a favourite treat spot for many this summer.

It seems St. Elizabeth Village is getting more impressive by the day, in no small part thanks to landscaping and customer service duties handled by this summer's cheery hires through the Canada Summer Jobs program. Wins all around on Hamilton Mountain!

2026 marks 100 years since the Royal Canadian Legion was officially incorporated by an Act of Parliament. During this Centennial year, membership is free for all new members! As part of Branch 163 on Hamilton Mountain, I meet neighbours and have fun while supporting veterans!

This past Friday Fish Fry at the Legion Branch 163 was extra special as we celebrated the Rev. Dr. Francis Chisholm’s 100th birthday! He was born on July 22, the same year the Legion was incorporated. (1/2)

I had a ball welcoming Parliamentary Secretary Leslie Church back to Hamilton Mountain! ⚾ We announced an increase to the Canada Child Benefit during the Hamilton Cardinals summer camp, helping thousands of families on the Mountain.

Congratulations to The Spec on 180 years of keeping Hamilton informed! I have wonderful memories of my time as a Spec reporter. I first walked through the doors in 1999 and starting that summer, I became part of Hamilton forever. Lifelong friendships were born and devotion to Hamilton was cemented.

Happy National Indigenous Peoples Day! So much to admire & appreciate at the celebration under the gorgeous art installation at West Harbour. Brought home some stunning beadwork and renewed respect for the talent among First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples.

I have learned a lot over the years at the Canadian Japanese Cultural Centre of Hamilton, but my favourite is probably Ikebana flower arranging. I always leave this annual event inspired to make flower art at home!
