After noting that her outlet of choice is the Free Press, she makes clear that she does not regret her vote. Both here and in her glib analysis of her work for Chesa Boudin, she obviously knows that she is saying things that are untrue, and yet she expects understanding for being liar, I guess

Let’s get this straight: I don’t regret leaving the Democratic Party. During Trump’s second term, the president has done many things I support: secure the border; rein in diversity, equity, and inclusion policies; broker foreign peace deals; and try to bring back manufacturing jobs.
Millions of former Democrats cast the same ballot as I did in 2024. We were disgusted—and desperate. And the story of our being demonized for doing so has been told before. The bigger story is that the same demonization is still happening—not only to hardcore Trump supporters but to those who dare to approach the biggest issues of our day with nuance or, even worse, to change their minds.

I am a former Marine, so I feel comfortable saying “Which tattoos, Ken? WHICH TATTOOS DO YOU MEAN?” because it really does matter. For sure those Marines exist; for sure they should not be US Senators. And that’s just the tattoo thing! Astonishingly poor judgment at best.

As for me, my apology is as follows:

I stand by my previous defense of Platner. Drunk tattoos and sexting-out-of-wedlock struck me as the most Marine shit ever. I literally know Marines who’ve done both but later grew up and became decent guys. (Hi if you’re reading this!) I still believe in my bones that people like that deserve to have a shot at public office and that our country would be better for it. But the Marines I’m describing were never accused of more serious things like sexual assault.
People were right to give him a chance before; and they’re right to drop him now.

In general, I agree. But whatever one’s opinion of US foreign policy before, in 2025 I am especially ambivalent on the country losing its veto power over the world’s transactions.

Article preaching the health benefits of ketamine for silicon valley ceos, and then an article about “crypto’s biggest conspiracy” with the lede “Did bureaucrats in the US plot to cut the crypto industry out of the banking system? An investigation begins.”

Journalist Dave Weigel, arguing that Democrats and the left are alienating “normal” people by fighting against terminology like “illegal immigrants,” using as a base for his arguments “stuff he heard Latinos say in Brownsville circa 2014”. Because of the Jesse Singal follower tag, I can see Weigel follows Singal, which creates an unfortunate larger umbrella of shitty, bigoted arguments encompassing this particular example.

What is the attached evidence? The NYT article on it says that there wasn't any, which seems really important given the context of the claims.

Clark D. Cunningham, a law and ethics professor at Georgia State University, reviewed Mr. Roman’s filing and questioned why it did not contain any proof of a relationship between the two prosecutors.

“If Roman’s lawyer has actual evidence of an improper relationship between Willis and Wade, it was incumbent on her to make that part of her motion, such as by attaching sworn affidavits from witnesses with personal knowledge or authenticated documents,” he said in an email.

Ms. Merchant, in a phone interview, said that she had reviewed documents showing that Mr. Wade and Ms. Willis had traveled together to vacation destinations and that Mr. Wade had paid for some of the tickets. She said she believed the records were included in Mr. Wade’s sealed divorce filings. She asked in a separate court filing this week that those records be unsealed.
