#ShittyCameraChallenge. #Minidigibladski heading to the chippie to fetch another batch of fish & chips for Saturday night's dinner.

#ShittyCameraChallenge Went in to get a new script for antidepressants this morning. This acrobatic road cone has been chilling out in the tree outside for a while. Taken with the #Minidigibladski (from last year's challenge) that proved to be a hit at D&D last night. It got comments earlier too.

#ShittyCameraChallenge. A few randoms over the last couple of days.

A few smaller branches of the magnolia at the gate with flowers in bloom, sitting in a Pyrex jug. They'd been hacked off by some punk with a concrete mixer backing down 91B's driveway to lay some concrete in the backyard at 93. Looks washed out, as no flash has been used. Negative art colour filter applied.

Same photo of the magnolias in the Pyrex jug, auto-enhanced in Paint.Net to bring out the photo better. A lot of digital noise is present, but it is now easier to see the Sodastream machine in the background.

A couple of metal chairs (without upholstery) sitting outside the fence of a (vacant?) commercial property down Main Street, across the road from Main St Fish and Chips. They have been sitting there for some time.

Taken during Dungeons and Dragons tonight. One of the party members in the background can be identified by the college jacket he is wearing. On the table is a battle mat and minis showing where party members and NPCs are (NPCs are characters that don't have players behind them but interact with the party). The huge one with (yes, they *are* horns) in the foreground is my Tiefling Bard, Mordecai. Black-and-white comic art filter applied.

#ShittyCameraChallenge Top Shots photolab inherited a couple of Sony Mavicas recently, and as I have 3 of them (and the relevant bits to run them), I've been helping to check them. While the other one's still AWOL, I can confidently state this particular Mavica is a goer. Just needs a new battery.

A miniature (great for sitting on a tabletop or plinth) tripod is sitting in front of the chopper. To the right of the small tripod, two more legs (another tripod?) stick out behind what looks like a moveable dividing wall. Outside the window, the photo lab's sign is visible, and along the bottom of the photo is a shadow highlighting the step up from the photo lab's floor to the area for the window display.

#ShittyCameraChallenge. Over the last couple of days, I've finally "christened" the Millennium edition Kodak Charmera. Somewhat amusing my neuro-eccentric brain, I couldn't quite figure out why the Butchery window needed a "wet floor" sign... (We went in to purchase meatballs for dinner).

#ShittyCameraChallenge "replacement G6" Thumb camera on the bottom. Turns out it ain't quite the G6 it's replacing (it lacks some filters). Ne'er mind. Not quite sure the handle of the one on top, but it has some funky filters... neg art: colour and B&W! Came today.

Top: Keychain camera similar to the Kodak Charmera, but with a flip-top viewfinder. It has "MINI CAMERA Record a wonderful life" at the top in red lettering and a rainbow of navy, purple, red, and yellow running along the bottom (and through the lens). 1982 is written on the rainbow in white lettering, and white stripes separate each colour in the rainbow.
Bottom: replacement "G6" Thumb camera with a rainbow of indigo, blue, pink, orange, and yellow running along the bottom (and through the lens). The rainbow has a curved slice out of it and the number '1984' in white. It has "THUMB CAMERA" in bold red letters and "Record Anytime Anywhere" in plain black letters.

What's the odds of both Charmeras coming out of their Blind boxes looking so similar? Not that I'm complaining, as I couldn't have orchestrated it better! #ShittyCameraChallenge

A line of vehicles travelling along a wet Main St (part of State Highway 1) as I was about to cross the road to the fish & chip shop to order dinner. Ignore the timestamp, it was actually closer to 6pm when I took this on my WEE purple anko camera (it fits inside a Chessex dice set container. D&D players: IYKYK)

#ShittyCamearaChallenge Spotted at Presbyterian Support during my Lions club meeting this afternoon. For those outside NZ, Matariki is Māori New Year, which arrives when the Pleiades can be seen in the sky. Late this year (10 July); sometimes celebrated in June.

3 6-pointed stars with tiki faces in a row along frosted window glass. The tiki and the stars are different colours. Below the frosted glass is normal glass with a multi-coloured pattern on it.

3 posters hanging on the window above the stars; each showing a face and a word in te reo Maori. The left and middle posters show women facing left. The right one (partially obscured by reflection from the camera's flash) has a man facing right.

Sign saying "Nga mihi o Matariki te tau hou Māori" (translation: Greetings on Matariki, the Māori New Year.) The word "matariki" is multicoloured, while the rest of the words are in white. A few stars (representing the Pleiades) are around the border.

Tried the variable IR filter on the Sony Mavica MVC-FD83 this morning after bible study. Took a little processing to bring out the leaves and remove some of the digital noise from the sky, but the bones of the photo promised quite a striking shot. #ShittyCameraChallenge #Floppydisksquad

You know you're probably onto a #ShittyCameraChallenge winner, when this is essentially what you get straight out of a Sony Mavica (MVC-FD7) and the IR filter set to ~750NM. BTW, the FD7 was set to 'colour' for this shot...

Beyond #ShittyCameraChallenge, still goofing around with IR. Slapped the filter on the Minidigibladski to see how it fit. Inside edge of filter slots straight over outside edge of lens. Duct-tape holds the filter in place and voila...

Infrared shot at front gate. Roses growing in front of the fence and behind show bleached-looking foliage. Almost reminiscent of an old-timey negative, except for the yellow date imprint in the bottom right corner.

Infrared shot of foliage against the corrugated iron back fence. Handle of a movable (rotating) compost bin in the bottom left corner. The normally oxidised-blue painted fence is 2 shades of dark(ish - particularly in the centre), and the foliage of the plants is bleached. Almost reminiscent of an old-timey negative, except for the yellow date imprint in the bottom right corner.

Infrared shot of the path between the garage and the sliding door into the conservatory. The photo shows a circular patch of blue discolouration in the centre, but the garage (and spouting drainpipe) can still be clearly seen. Around the outside, the foliage from the lavender (left) and flower bushes (mix of fuchsias and roses, right) are bleached, whilst the garage, house and sky look relatively normal in black and white. There is a yellow date imprint in the bottom right corner.

Not such a successful infrared shot done with the sepia filter. After using "auto-enhance" on the photo, which turned it into a straight B&W shot, I had to reapply the sepia filter, which affected the date stamp. This photo is of the front (cinderblock) fence and foliage from the front yard and street frontage. Some of the foliage looks a little bleached, while some of it does not.

#ShittyCameraChallenge The latest member to join the Craptastic Minidigicam Team... Minidigibladski!

Red and black (lens) Hasselblad-style camera with gold accents. A miniature digital camera in the same vein as the Chuzhao digitlr. About an inch (2.5cm) shorter than the Chuzhao and 2.5" (8cm) longer than the Chuzhao.

More post #ShittyCameraChallenge shenanigans. I took the photo of the tree treated with the IR-negart filters and played around in post. It's nuts how different they all came out, and I didn't even do much to them (though I now no longer remember what I did).

The tree shot in Negative Art mode with the IR filter. The sky is now dusky blue, and the foliage is now brown. The tree trunk still looks bleached.

The colour of the sky is now a chocolate hue, whilst the foliage is now sky blue. The tree trunk has now turned dark, and the roof of the secondhand store (where I got the Kiev 19 in a banana box with others) is now bleached looking.

Tree trunk still dark, but foliage is now PINK. And the sky is almost tomato-red. For the sci-fi fans, it almost resembles a scene from Mars.

Some Post-#ShittyCameraChallenge shenanigans with the Sony Cybershot, IR filter (720nm?), and a tree in my GP's Surgery carpark (from across the road, where Zuki was actually parked!). In-camera B&W, Sepia, and Negative Art filters are used while holding the IR filter in front of the lens.

#ShittyCameraChallenge The original #Charmera, the Tougodo Hit (www.ephotozine.com/article/coll..., mitxela.com/projects/dig...). No idea of the state of all the films (1 was still in the camera), but only arrived yesterday. Too late for the challenge.

#ShittyCameraChallenge. My late father's birthday is today, so we (Mum, I, and my other half) went to celebrate at Dodson Street Beer Garden (www.dodsonstreet.co.nz/home/). After dropping "short-ass" (he's 6'2") back home, Mum and I went and visited Dad at the cemetery with some fresh flowers.

Another picture using the cartoon filter on the G6 Thumb camera, but this time auto-enhanced in post. The photo is of my Mexican burger and fries at Dodson Street Beer Garden. The plate also has a container of perinaise to dip the chips in.

The gravesite where Dad's ashes are interred. The headstone is black stone shaped like an open book, and it is engraved with the usual information you see on a headstone. There is also a picture of a Piwakawaka (Fantail) sitting on a blooming Kowhai branch. (For those outside of New Zealand, "kowhai" is Maori for "yellow" and is the name of a yellow flower/bush native to New Zealand). Fresh yellow flowers (not Kowhai) have been placed at his grave.

#ShittyCameraChallenge. Still shootin' despite "radio silence". I now have access to a variable IR filter (530-750nm) and *still* experimenting. IYKYK...

Black and white 'birds-eye view' of the lilies on the dining table. It's a bit hard to tell, but there are about four blooms out. I think they're all out now. A patterned tablecloth, a few coasters, and other odds and ends are scattered about.

You can also see the camera viewfinder in the top left corner (I never use this - too small) and three of the five control buttons. There is a red, orange, yellow, and blue rainbow graphic stretching along the bottom of the border with "1987" superimposed on the bottom left and the date "2026 01 19" on the bottom right. Behind all that is a plain, pale background.

In the bottom left of the photo (where the date is) is a piece of Mint slice on the corner of a plate, a ½ pint glass cream bottle with gravel and some kind of (bushy/feathery) grass, a table mat and a glass of water. There's a coffee cup sitting on the table next to one of the two Trefoil members in the background. The black and taupe silhouetted filter has been altered slightly to give the appearance of black and white.

#ShittyCameraChallenge Shots from my travels in the last week around Blenheim's CBD. Excuse the rain in most of the shots, it's been wet... I know it's s'posed to be summer south of the equator, but at least the farmers will be happy :)

#ShittyCameraChallenge. 1st of 2 stickers like this on cars as I was walking through carparks to get to the one where my car was parked. While this one said "No. It's f**ked", the second one actually came out uncensored with "No. It's fucked." Funny that I'd seen 2 variations of it in 5 minutes.

#ShittyCameraChallenge #Charmera #kodak #KodakCharmera Open night Dungeons & Dragons started back up for the new year at Tabletop Cafe Blenheim. My Dragonborn Sorcerer (Galen) is fairly chaotic, but the session was crazier than he is!

A hybrid photo taken at D&D the other night. The image itself (turned black & White in post) contains a table top with a plate with two slices of garlic bread (1 partially eaten), a large can of Monster energy drink, a clear container of RPG dice, another plate with a chicken taco, 3 dice trays, and a few more sets of RPG dice. 2 glasses (one next to a can of Sprite), an open book, and someone's arm and tee shirt can also be seen. The untouched border (still in colour) resembles the sprocket-holed part of the negative you would see with film photos. Along with the date 2026 01 11 (in orange/red), you see (in dirty yellow) along the top: CHARMERA 3 KODAK. And along the bottom: 2A 3 and the date.

#ShittyCameraChallenge Essentially the same scene, but different filters. G6 Thumb camera. Have been getting some fantastic sunsets lately.

Oddly-shaped lines in the sky represent the clouds.
