Last night was the Strawberry Moon, so I picked a couple of my strawberries. They were perfect. The rest of this crop should be ready in 10-12 days.
In 2023, I published an essay about Black Women's Wonder, using "The Man Who Fell to Earth" as text. It proposed wonder as an alternative/companion to the joy that we were talking about so much at the time. Website revamped, so it's gone. But, I really liked that piece.

I have this very old (50s-60s) shirt from when my granddad was a bus driver and it appears to have been made by Christian Dior. So, did Dior actually make bus driver uniforms once upon a time? I've never been able to get a clear answer.
Didn't think I would be able to see this tonight, because we were supposed to have storms. Waiting for totality.

The case with so much of the destruction that the right is able to affect; the seeds are already planted on the left. That's why it flourishes so easily. I've said this before: Woke belongs to Black people. White folks didn't make it, and white folks can't take it away. Stay woke.
This film is a deeply painful history, beautifully and gently told. See it in theaters, if you can. #NickelBoys
