Jan 1981. I can remember anyone with docs having to leave their laces at the turnstile on an away day visit to The Valley.

My ticket stub for the gig plus a Weller patch from then and my pass for the warm up gig at Leicester de Montfort hall.

She’s an excellent performer. Had tickets for her 600 capacity show at The Garage in Islington but the show was eventually held at Koko with 1,500 capacity. Enjoy that small intimate gig.

when we went to the Sunday afternoon Northern Soul dance a few weeks ago we discovered a new room out the back through the door on the left of the stage. It’s such a wonderful place. Check out that ceiling !!

This is my bedroom wall poster. I travelled from Cornwall that day. The evening before The Jam & Vaughn guested at a CND benefit gig by The Gang of Four at the Rainbow, they apparently played 3 songs; ‘Going Underground’, Arthur Conley’s ‘Sweet Soul Music’ & Sandie Shaw’s ‘Long Live Love’.

2 years earlier i was at the Brockwell Park YCND concert and that was wet and very muddy as well. Both times I was wearing inappropriate footwear.

Wish I’d been pissed on Pernod!! What a disaster that was, in a muddy, white Levi’s and converse kind of way!!

A flyer for the opening night of ‘Giant Step’ New York, 5th December 1991, we visited a week later with the Paul Weller band after his gig at the Ritzy. Doing his merchandise & had flown in after gigs in LA. Great times. Jo pictured with the band & Maurice Bernstein ( founder of Giant Step).

Yes, I used to visit when it was in Ingestre Place. Small shop tucked away in the back streets. Spent many an hour and £££ in the ‘Jungle’ basement of Blackmarket also fond memories of Johnny Chandlers ‘Division One’ on the other side of Oxford Street, love that map.

Checked this out last night in Peckham, the Hyper D story is well worth a watch. The persistence of those involved to get this film completed must be appreciated & applauded. It’s on again at the PeckhamPlex on Monday and Nationwide at odeon cinemas.
