NOTO EMOJI not a good saluting emoji but a really really really really really really good "gently pats you" emoji. 10/10
TOSSFACE this is like if the apple emoji and discord emoji had a baby. appealing enough! not super interesting although the hand does kind of look like a pepis which is pretty fun. 7/10
JOYPIXELS this on the other hand is a pretty boring take on the apple classic. like ok we get it. the glove element isn't funny enough here to justify itself. whatever 5/10
HUAWEI REALLYYYYYYY REALLY LIKE THIS TAKE ON THE CLASSIC APPLE DESIGN. AWESOME fried egg eye. this is the salute of an emoji that's about to be so maliciously/stupidly compliant. really really really love this i gotta give it a perfect 10/10
FACEBOOK this stupid little mickey mouse handlet really gave me a laugh just now. the upward curve + weird glove situation means this thing is really giving gay butler to me. the hand really doesn't read clearly as a hand at small scale, so kind of just a failure here. 8/10 i really like it
TWT/DISCORD REALLY really awesome grim expression, really love it. enhanced by the fact tht the prominence of the thumb makes it look less like a salute and more like someone else is patting the head of this scowling emoji. so awesome. 8/10 GREAT base but distracting hand situation
WHATSAPP obviously i am pleased and amused by the blank expression, but this hand is weirdly kind of limp compared to the others. it's kind of giving 🫳 . really looks more like it's shading its eyes in the sun than saluting. 4/10
MICROSOFT TEAMS this is what i ACTUALLY use in my work chat. it's like, fine. kind of too perky. i like the slightly complicated 2-blink animation cycle, the bounce of the hand is cute. 6/10
SAMSUNG i REALLY like the face's proportions, very cute. hand still at a weird angle but at least it's a better achieved hand. cute little smile, appropriate for use e.g. in a work groupchat indicating to my boss that i'm on it. 8/10
GOOGLE NOTO COLOR not good. why is the hand at that weird angle, & so ugly and lumpy. looks like it's wiping its sweaty forehead in relief. pleasantly blank expression is somehow way less evocative than the :| of the apple emoji. 3/10. the animated version i do like, it gives a cheeky little wink
APPLE a classic. the only emoji where the face seems to have been cut in half for space, which gives it an air of mystery, as if it's half-standing behind a door. the rather grim expression is really awesome. 10/10
