Pamblo Cheif of the Nisenan here in Nevada City, CA. He is honored at the Uba Seo. 15 years after CA became a state in 1850 85% of the Indigenous CA Tribes were eliminated, but 99% of the Nisenan were. In 1950, the federal government refused to recognize them as a Tribe. They are still here!
Nyx, black chick, was sick the day that I brought the rest of my chicks to a friend's for safe keeping. Nyx recovered to health and is safe here. Hawks see black birds as ravens and leave them alone. I am so happy to open the birds up for the day and see Cinta and Iris reunited with the flock.
I am so happy to have my older chicks back. I had spoken the words out loud. "I have too many chicks", and the wild heard me. Hawk attacks that left me confused at first until i saw them in action.
My great grandfather, William Ostrander, a Christian scientist, painted this huge watercolor of him. He was such a brilliant painter, but nobody in our current family relates to Christ, which is a real pity in many ways.
