Real question: Why would a government administration so concerned about socialism / communism buy up society's means of production? Also, why is this not a daily discussion topic in the media?
Karoline Leavitt currently fearmongering about "communism." I guess "socialism" no longer generates the desired response, so they're all aligned around the new buzzword. They're so scared.
Honest question for my Mpls biking friends: When there's an adjacent bike lane, why do you ride in the road? This morning, I passed two separate bikes riding in the center of this (car) lane. I just don't get it.
With the fire evacuation zone one mile away, this morning’s rain is amazing!
Just scrolled past a live video where he's claiming that per the CHIPS and Science Act, funding was denied to anyone who isn't transgender. Has he claimed this nonsense before? wtaf.
Check out today’s order from the judge in the Trump v IRS slush fund case. Good read. (tl;dr there’s no case when an opposing party doesn’t exist) www.courtlistener.com/docket/72207...
I think deaths are sad. I’m not going to celebrate this death. His legacy teaches of the misery that comes with leading a closeted life. I hope his soul finds the peace that eluded him during life.
Hey nerdy friends, is Cloudflare Turnstile garbage for everyone, or just me? (Mobile functionality is a disaster on sites with ASP/webforms.)
Social postings already claiming that “the media” has twisted the events of yesterday. They don’t want to believe this is America at 250. Ref: www.reuters.com/pictures/pho...
This admin clearly doesn’t even understand the *concept* of conflicts of interest: one doesn’t “engage” in conflicts, they exist whether you participate or not.
When you live and work in Minneapolis proper, main thoroughfares are closed for construction, and you're taking the long way home, it's hard to be angry. I love it here.
Oh ffs, just move on without him. …solid approach for the whole world to take, really.
Proud to see so many redditors using the latest and proper nomenclature when discussing stauber etiquette in the BWCA.
Surprising no one who honors the rule of law, a Judge has quashed DoJ subpoenas of MN leaders. Related: ALL immigrants who were/are illegally held need justice, not just the ones with the means to make a complaint.
My to-do list is a mile long but here I am, mesmerized by a live stream. No regrets.
I'd like to see an analysis of his makeup application over time. There's gotta be some influencer who's on this beat, right?
Lazy morning at home, putzing in the kitchen, when I hear an ad for overnight oats. I don’t understand how that’s a thing available for sale. Isn’t it homemade by definition? Of course, I’m just here making oat milk, so perhaps I’m not the target market.
Apparently there’s a Trump rally today in WI; below is a live stream capture. I’m wracking my brain for ANY current policy that is “fighting for American farmers.” Not unrelated: @amyklobuchar.com needs some concrete policies for MN farmers. We are the DFL after all.
One Kennedy Center callout not being covered much: Last year, Trump replaced its voting board members with his own loyalists, ushering in the insanity ever since. Friday's order reverses that illegal board, in accordance with the law. This may be the most consequential part of the order!
I'm starting to get involved in the DFL this year, for the first time ever. Still not fluent in French, but here's me trying to learn another new language.
Every time he travels abroad, our nation collectively holds its breath, preparing for the inevitable global embarrassment to come.
Reading "It's Even Worse Than It Looks" (Mann & Ornstein, 2012/ rev 2016), on recommendation from @jamellebouie.net. Damn this book is prescient. Such a good read. So far my only critique is referring to Tip O'Neill as "Thomas."
Yesterday, the U.S. Senate ended the mining ban protecting the Boundary Waters watershed — by a single vote. Today, we organize within Minnesota to keep our waters safe. Next up: 1. Contacting MnDNR, manager of mining leases 2. Voting out Pete Stauber, who doesn't care about safe drinking water
After finding the easter egg link, I've successfully leveled-up to access the @minneapolismn.gov payment screen. Now on to figuring out what these asterisks mean. With no other clues on the page, I hope the next level has some good perks!
For weeks I’ve been perplexed about why the Iran attacks are happening *now*. Could it be for branding, since we’re precisely 47 years after the hostage crisis? I mean, he keeps repeating 47. Even when threatening genocide. I hate this timeline.
The perpetual refrain of “Stauber cheats at hockey” is the perfect encapsulation of politics in Minnesota.
