Donkey orchids and Greenhood orchids now flowering in Lowlands Coastal Reserve
It's blue fairy orchid Pheladenia deformis. Also the donkey orchids leaves and buds are around now as wells as the rattlebeaks leaves and buds. Frogs and lizards today too
Days are getting longer and at least 3 species of wattle flowering in the reserve in Lowlands Reserve is a rainbow coast . Acacia alata, Acacia littorea and Acacia myrtifolia. We'll soon be on our eradication hunt for the invasive Sydney golden wattle to stop it spreading in our reserve
Arboretum vibes from Clontarf hill today. There are at least 5 species of wattle (inc Prickly Moses, A cyclops, A littorea and more) , and 5 species of gumtree ( inc Tuart, Redheart Moit, Freo mallee, Jarrah, Illyarri)

Wattles are beginning to flower in Lowlands Coastal Reserve. We have at least 4 species of Acacia in the reserve. At least 30 different species in flower in the reserve today. Loving my sunset walks

Whisky distilleries use "Highland" more broadly , even have Fife as Highland and of course carve out Speyside as its own entity
Had to check . I often find novels historical or not , set in Scotland by Australian writers grating or jarring or making me cringe . The North East of Scotland isn't "the Highlands" and isn't "the Lowlands" it's the North East.

Idly wondered for years what gum tree this was on our block. Finally, I looked it up. I think it's a cream flowered leucoxylyn . I never knew they came in colours other than red/pink

AI is ubiquitous. I use Xero bookkeeping software. Then Xero sends me an email: "Get insights on your data" Log in to Claude AI. No no no no ! I just recently deleted Claude AI app after a dabble to see how scarily good it is at correcting my excel spreadsheets. AI is not enviro friendly
So many strong opinions online re AI. Chatting at playpark to a visiting doctor from overseas who said that AI can interpret breast cancer scans better than a human & an engineer said they use it to improve PowerPoint presentations. My handwritten notes, not using as much electricity & water as AI
I also hand write my notes . But it's good to dabble with Claude/Odysseus/Chatgpt/Copilot/Gemini AI so you recognise what's out there. Some tells I've noticed are use of "And yes", truly, honestly, absolutely and other filler words, emdashes
