The draft of the Tomodachi Life part of 2026 Lozza's Year in Gaming is going well so far

Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream
A lot of people were surprised when I told them I didn't play the first Tomodachi Life, but I was a 3DS-less child, so I started with Living the Dream.

My original plan was to make mii's of my family and friends and see what carnage they get up to, but then I had visions of creating my entire family in the Sims 2: Castaway at the age of 6 and subsequently traumatising myself by watching Sims of my parents and sister get swept away. I cried. A lot. Had nightmares about storms and shipwrecks for weeks after.

You may think 'Loz this is absolutely not the same as the Sims 2 incident that's a bit dramatic', to which I say 'I don't care and also the prospect of having Bob Mortimer and Paul Whitehouse on an island with the PG Tips monkey and Cunty Regirock With a Handbag was too tempting.'

The public demo is out TOMORROW! I love a fantasy RPG and I know SoG will be no exception. It's visually gorgeous, has a stunning soundtrack, creative spell system (Ocarina of Time fans rejoice) and an intriguing story set in a lively world filled with characters who big and small are all voiced.

I had no idea how bad the brighton seagulls were until I saw everywhere on the seafront had these signs up, and then a seagull the size of a crusty white dog landed right next to me and demanded a chip

I don't quite have the words to describe how horrible and angering it was turning on the news yesterday morning to see various angles of a group of people being so loudly happy about taking rights away from trans women. Watching as they whoop and cheer at trans women being even more susceptible to abuse and harassment and not being able to access spaces they're entitled to. This is not a victory for women's rights, this is a victory for misogynists and transmisogynists who want to see trans people be unable to access society, and women reduced to only their body parts.

Went to a garden centre today of all places, and there was a woman there wearing an 'Adult human female' T-shirt who was getting a bit starey. Thankfully she was leaving, but it's harrowing being in public spaces and seeing these people be so free to spread their vitriol and not be challenged at all, and often encouraged.

We need cis allies more than ever at the moment. I see so many people sharing Instagram posts and it's nice to see people are there but we need to go beyond that. Write to your MP, attend a protest, share/donate to fundraisers, drop your trans mates a message to check in. Do anything you can, but please just show up for the trans community.
