Dad. Communications consultant/science writer guy. America's leading lawn gnome critic. Likes: bikes, science, camping, travel. Dislikes: lawn gnomes without eyes, quick declines into fascism. I block freely.
Excellent thoughts, and I don't want to detract from the fact that American homes are now generally wasteful, temporary affairs, but...lol
I'm fascinated by the Skylab dining arrangement. Photo from the astronaut ice cream people (who don't seem to make Neapolitan any longer). astronautfoods.com/pages/the-hi...
Dear makers of cheap plastic crap for boardwalk arcades: I was promised a dinosaur in my fizzy egg that I spent $1B on Skee-Ball to obtain. Sadly, I hatched what is more clearly described as a dimetrodon, a creature that pre-dated dinosaurs and more closely related to mammals. For shame! #rawr
Ooooh, it’s finally here! I’ve been listening to the Dead Milkmen since 1985, when my older cousin John made a copy of the Big Lizard cassette for me So many questions I’m hoping this will answer #DeadMilkmen
I have a new resident to the little water feature I installed next to the front porch and I’m both flummoxed and delighted. Turtle experts, should I put a plank in the water for easier egress? It is probably not a great spot for wintering over
Ugh, that is unfortunate. I never cohabitated with cat before, so I was unprepared for the speed and lethal intent. We set up an array of bird feeders outside of her favorite window so she can get her stalking groove on. She's currently sleeping next to my desk, dreaming of murder.
I am still on FB for volunteer organization reasons...it is a terrible place. Almost every week, I see a post about a supposedly beloved, dead "neighborhood" cat. I generally bite my tongue, but occasionally I'll be that a-hole and post this:
You would be thor after wearing this, I assure you. From an ad seen elsewhere.
Tonka just wants to sit in the clover, which I can appreciate.!it is a lovely night for sitting on the porch.
(and your brains would doubtless be very tasty on tortilla chips) I highly doubt that, in fact.
Sometimes, I think the TOS writers dipped from the Shakespearean well too freely...
It annoys my wife on walks, but I'll formally greet rabbits with a "Hello, friend Rabbit," mostly because I'm not great at determining bunny sex. Manly Wade Wellman's The Dreadful Rabbits is a fun, short read. Maybe it will inspire your own rabbit habit. en.wikisource.org/wiki/Weird_T...
The original Mad Max was brilliant for creating this uncanny, uneasy feeling that civilization was just falling apart due to scarcity. Before Thunderdomes & flaming guitars, the decline was subtle Lowe's is now advertising daggers and electric motorcycles. It is only a four-inch blade, but...
So, if you go to the Queen in Wilmington on Sept. 18th, you can see my favorite band. And then you should stick around for The War on Drugs. #IThinkLikeMidnight
Meanwhile, in Jenkintown, the at-least-they-tried bike rack, which was a real effort for the 1960s If you can’t tell, it is cemented into the ground and touches the wall, virtually assuring that it has never been used in all of its years. There is a twin on the other side of the entrance.
Not to speak ill of the dead, but if there were a man-eating croc movie, this guy probably would be among the first to go.
The end of the line, but I’m fairly certain that there is more trail here, Bucks County.
Seriously, people really do that? I mean, all I know about hunting I learned from a Tex Avery cartoon, but it seems pretty common sense.
I don’t care what the critics, audience or standards of good taste say, I still enjoy Brain Donors.
