Bug. Big bug! Is it a moth?

I think it's a moth. It's definitely a bug. It looks like a dead leaf. It was attached to a cranberry colored pair of pants I had drying on the line outside. I almost just brushed it off until I saw its little segmented body. Also, it was huge for a bug. Like more than 2 inches across.

I deleted and am reposting this bc I forgot to deface the image. Nazi account started yesterday and kicking up hate around the a N Texas Black teen on trial for murder.

The post says that Mein Kampf is the only book kids should be encouraged to read. He posted a pic of the book cover which I have defaced with Popular Front arrows and the word NAZI in all caps.

If you repost Nazi imagery, you should always deface it so it can't be repurposed by fascists for fascist purposes.

"When Governor Abbott threatened to strongarm Austin by gutting our victim services and defunding programs for our at-risk youth, the City had a chance to show every Austinite that their government answers to them, not to political threats.
That's not what happened.
Although the City held firm on some core principles, City management capitulated to the Governor's unreasonable demand to change our general orders and tamper with APD officers' lawful discretion to choose not to call ICE when they encounter a non-judicial administrative ICE warrant.
Some key components of our general orders were preserved. Most importantly, Austin is preserving the provisions forbidding officers from detaining anybody based solely on an administrative warrant, as required by the Fourth Amendment,
However, today's decision to remove officers' discretion regarding the initial call to ICE wil overburden already-scarce police resources and turn local law enforcement into a tool for a fear-driven political agenda.
Months ago, our General Orders were updated carefully, deliberately, and in full compliance with Texas State Law to ensure our officers can serve every Austinite, without compromising public trust or basic constitutional protections
Abbott's demands ignore this entirely, in an obvious attempt to scapegoat immigrants and distract Texans from skyrocketing costs, crumbling infrastructure, and State leadership that has repeatedly failed its people.

Yay! We did Choke Canyon a couple weeks ago! Turkeys and javelinas and Jack rabbits. The water lever was absolutely depressing though.

Big boy wild turkey all puffed up. His tail is fanned out. His feathers are all puffed out and spread open. He's standing by the side of a road.

He was super excited bc the ranger was feeding birds in a walled off blind. He's just about to hop a fence to get to morning chow.

maybe you won't be responsive to all caps yelling at you so i'll say it in my inside voice. i'm not voting for you until you return to your original position of abolishing ICE which you very eloquently laid out in 2018 while on austin city council. A position you held when we sent you to congress.

Now, more than ever, our country faces the

choose to be complicit in this
humanitarian crisis or we can step up and
end family separation and mass
incarceration. We ioin hundreds of
thousands of Americans in calling on our
federal government to immediately reunite
all families who have been separated over
the past two weeks, and to halt
discretionless prosecutions for border
crossing.

And we must go farther. We were
heartened to hear last week's
announcement that Congressmember
Mark Pocan plans to introduce leaislation
that goes farther, abolishing Immigration
and Customs Enforcement (ICE). We
applaud this development, and look
forward to working with members of
congress to bring an end to the fear and

Immigration attorney Eric Lee said he was
at the Dilley facility for a confidential visit
with clients - an immigrant family of six
including five children - when guards
Began shouting for everyone in the waiting
area to leave, citing what they described as
"an incident."

As the Michigan-based attorney walked
toward his car. he said he heard what
sounded like "hundreds of children'
shouting, with voices he described as
'high-pitched" and "urgent." He said he
could see children streaming from
dormitory areas behind a chain-link fence
and chanting "Libertad.'

Lee said clients he later spoke with told
him the protest was triggered by concerns
over the treatment of Liam Conejo Ramos
a five-year-old who was taken into custody
with his father in Minnesota earlier this
week and transferred to the Dilley facility
