As an introvert nerd I'm quite happy at home on my own, but sometimes it's nice to get out, do some shopping and eat tacos
Out for a walk today, went out from Sutton Bank, amazing view on a good day (which it was)
Read this one just recently, lots of interesting detail on the experiences of transfusion officers. Few things I disagreed with and one part where I wasn't sure what the argument was, but overall enjoyed it. #histbookchat #photofriday
Just started reading this one and wondering why it was never set/recommended at Undergrad or MA, it's very interesting so far #histbookchat #photofriday
Came across this plaque in what used to be the HQ of the Tetley Brewery in Leeds at the weekend. I'd never heard of HMS Neptune, what a terrible event en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HMS_Nep...
Had a trip to Sheffield today, lovely weather, food festival on around the town hall and the way they are greening up the city is very impressive
Found these maps on my last archive visit, I've seen lots of maps showing the back and forth of the fighting in North Africa but never seen any like this before, I think they're pretty effective, from WO 201/2889 if you want a look yourself.
Happiness is finding you have one of these left when you thought you'd drunk them all!
Just bought this for my other half for Christmas. He saw it at the Airborne Museum in Oosterbeek back in 2017 and he's been regretting not buying it ever since 😂 #histbookchat
Few photos from a week ago in Oosterbeek and Arnhem, beautiful day for exploring on foot
#photofriday #histbookchat My latest purchase, haven't properly looked at it yet, it's enormous, weighs nearly 3kg. Second photo is from the final page, I looked at it quickly and saw one of those four legged walkers from Star Wars on the left and now can't unsee it!
Lovely morning at Chalke History Fest, also a great day to be an ice cream eater and not a coffee drinker (see last photo)
You've been kidnapped. The characters from the last TV show you watched are trying to rescue you. Who is coming to save you? Maybe it will be ok?
Productive few hours cleaning boots ready for storage and waterproofing the Vans collection for summer
I've read this before but donated it so had to buy another copy as I'm now curious to read again after hearing Philippe Sands say that the journalist involved was a Mossad agent, and hearing elsewhere the forger might have been in the Stasi. Also, it's just a great read #photofriday #histbookchat
My editing red biro has finally died, I've done a lot of work with this biro over the years!
