The concept of "lost learning" has been built into such an urgent issue that it has eclipsed fears of lost children.

The nature of AI means a leap of faith is *required* to implement it. We are all guinea pigs but they need a sufficient number of devout ones. 🐹 🙏

THIS. "How can we engender trust?" may sound like the purveyors mean to learn/act to improve the safety of a product or introduce guardrails but is a way of making doubters the problem: *they* mistrust. And the authors make clear what the purveyors want and need is faith, blind or blindered.

This clarified for me how simply asking "How can we get people to trust AI?" is rhetorically powerful.
