Yesterday someone came by who saw my cicadas & magnolias print and was immediately like "this is just exuding North Carolina"! We talked about the small town rave scene in nc and he left with a print; I got emotional over how validating that felt 😭

recent digital paints on an oldish (2020?) sketchbook drawing for fun

ohoho. it begins 😌

A very large, green, Virginia Sweet slicing tomato on the vine. It is "heirloom shaped" and lumpy, still very firm but just starting to turn ripe. The poster is holding it in their hand; it is more than twice the size of the poster's fist.

A hand holds a square ceramic vessel full of about 2 cups of small, round, bright orange Sungold tomatoes. They are an indeterminate vining variety, super fragrant, and the flavor is incredibly sweet and complex.

Because what goes around comes around, if you see this, share a circle, a disk, something round. Self-pruning (2022)

A circular arrangement of plant cuttings around a pair of pruning shears. Twigs from the cutting form a circle which appears as a window into the background beyond the canvas, where the made up fantasy plant being pruned can be seen fading into space. Twigs, a bit of string, and the words "self-pruning" make up a larger circle around the previous.

country fair has such an inspiring diy ethos, I was seriously shocked that it looks like they hired an ai artist for this year's poster? it appears to be a blend of the artist's style and ai. there is also art theft on her site and insta. I am already so tired of this grifter renaissance

Tillamook bay

took a trip out to garibaldi to forage seaweed during an ultra-low tide! most of this is wakame, but our friends managed to harvest quite a lot of sea lettuce and turkish towel as well~

the first bumper stickers! these are kinda on the small side at 7.5"w 2.8"h. all proceeds from everything new is goin to mutual aid

sketchy warmup zukins

A sketchbook open to a page with a bunch of black and white pen drawings of various zukins, a character from dance dance revolution. Devil Zukin, Kaeru Zukin, and Robo Zukin are featured in various poses, like landing on a mailbox, flying with a ddr arrow, and making you lose the circle game while walking away drinking boba. All are drawn with a Lamy Safari fountain pen and Noodler's black ink.

2026 self, surviving under a grow lamp
