Daughter, Sister, Friend, Wife, Mother, Grandmother - Appalled at the continued MAGA movement and current regime. Working on finding peace within. No DMs.
Saying arrivederci to Italy, my home for 3 weeks. Will be good to sleep in my own bed and hug my grandbabies, two of which started kindergarten, one last week and one yesterday.
Went to Mass this morning alone (Bill didn’t sleep well & wasn’t up to go) and being here in Spello, Italy, with Mass in Italian, I can still follow along with the rhythm. This morning, got up from kneeling & nearly passed out. Guessing combination of kneeling to stand, heat &lack of food or coffee.
While we couldn’t attend this morning’s Mass at the Basilica in Assisi (it was a ticketed event for youths on pilgrimage), Bill rode his rented bike into Assisi this morning. He was within 100 feet of Pope Leo as he addressed people outside.
Just came in from an ABBA sing-along in the square here in Spello. Live orchestra, chorus. Words displayed up on building wall. So many people in attendance. I had a ball sing along. Bill was a sport, as he usually avoids anything ABBA. lol!
In an attempt to feel a spark about the upcoming Independence Day, we went to this program this afternoon. Beautiful music and messaging. Use your voice, love your family and work to make a difference.
When we moved to a home with an alley out back, my dad couldn’t resist getting us this sign since our last name is Bowling. We hung it on our fence next to our parking pad. It makes it easy to tell friends coming to look for that. A couple years ago after a new family…
Gabe blood this morning after Mass. replenishment after is always a bonus with Oreos
My Bill from Louisville! 🥰 Took this Friday night at M. Peppers in Louisville. Went to dinner with his parents to celebrate their 61st and our 40th wedding anniversaries. My FIL said, we have 100 years of marriage at this table; isn’t that something!
Anxiety has been through the roof lately. Meds, meditation, breathing, walking are not getting it. 😟
Will be married 40 years next week. Didn’t appreciate it when the priest read The Velveteen Rabbit for our wedding sermon. I didn’t appreciate it at the time, but have grown to understand it. Unfortunately, I’m the one with worn parts in the scenario while he’s as active as ever.
Having a great trip/retreat with my Sober Sis sisters here in Savannah, Georgia.
Headed to the park here in a minute to work out neighborhood association Easter egg hunt.Thankful the rain is holding off to later today. Looking forward to a joyful event. We need to find happiness and joy where we can.
All good things must come to an end. Traveling home to cold winter ❄️ weather
Coming back in from sunset sail, our sailboat had to wait for fishing tournament boats to dock. We had a bit of excitement, seeing (albeit too dark to really see) Michael Jordan’s boat
Happy alcohol-free new year’s! 14 months alcohol-free for me. Looking back on what was right this past year and working on trying to balance the negativity in the world with paying closer attention to the good - my mental health needs that. 🙏 for 2026 and our world.
So enjoyed my baby boy’s wedding this past weekend. And thankful to the bride and her parents for getting me red and white Giesen 0 wines to enjoy the celebration along with everyone else. #alcoholfree
Successful, beautiful wedding. We are 39.5 years married, all 3 kids are now college educated, married homeowners, now with the baby boy marrying his love last night. Our parents, both sets having been married 60 years, were in attendance, as well as our 5 grandchildren. Definitely blessed.
Not bad for the lit Louisville city area and being on a hill with obstructed views. But my brother in Lanesville has fabulous views.
