FOR SIR KNIGHTS, LIEUTENANTS AND CAPTAINS
The style of the coat is the regular military frock, the skirts extending from one-half to two-thirds the distance from the hip to the bend of the knee. The material is black broadcloth. The collar is standing pattern, not less than one nor more than one and one-half inches in height. It hooks in front at the base and the sides slope upward from the hook at an angle of thirty degrees. The cuffs are three inches in width.
There are pockets in the back folds of the skirt. The buttons are arranged thus: nine large size on breast, placed at equal distances from each other; two large size on the hip, two on each skirt; two small size on the lower seam of each cuff. The kind of buttons is as follows :
FOR CAPTAIN AND LIEUTENANTS, Line or Staff
The buttons are of gold-plated metal, in pattern
the same as worn by staff officers of the United States Army.
FOR CHEVALIERS
The buttons were formerly black, cloth-covered or "lasting " style. But, by a recent amendment to the laws, chevaliers are permitted, if they choose, to wear the gold-plated metal button, same as worn by the officers. Therefore either black lasting or gold staff buttons can be used.

CHAPEAU
The body is of black silk plush, slashed on front and back peaks with gold-plated vellum wire lace one inch wide, the edges of the plush bound with black velvet. The rosette, placed on the left side, is circular in form, four and one-half inches in diameter.

is of purple velvet, around which is a row of gold-colored, quilled ribbon, and

outside the ribbon, a row of purple ribbon points. The orna-
ment within the central velvet disk of the rosette is an eight-pointed star in the centre of which is the emblem of the angel and knight. This star may be of gold-plated metal, or may be embroidered just as the owner pleases. The plumes are three in number, two small and one large. Of the small or "under" plumes, the one on the left side of the chapeau is purple; on the right side, yellow. The large top plume is white. In the front peak of the chapeau is a large, half-round, gold chapean tassel.

membership was limited to only white males. boooo 👎🏼🫤 the saber is probably from around 1890/1900 and they are both just used for ceremonial purposes. they were in pretty rough shape by the time i found them but there’s still something kinda special about having them. almost feels like they 3/4

i don’t know the exact date but based on what i’ve seen online, this specific model of the sword is from the late 1800s. the knights of the golden eagle started in 1872 and they’re pretty much just a fraternal benefit group. while their whole thing was kinda to help unemployed or widows/ orphans 2/4

i have a lot of things to say but i’m going to talk about swords instead, cuz swords are really cool. back in the day, i used to live in a house and these swords were left buried in the yard by the previous owner, so now they’re mine. one is a genuine “knights of the golden eagle” sword 1/4🧵

a silver saber from the late 1800’s next to a gold sword from the late 1800’s. the gold sword has an eagle on the end of the hilt and ornate markings. it is a knight of the golden eagle ceremonial sword. both swords are rusted.

cyberdeck update: -made a cut out for the switch -added screws to the panels and hinges -added an antenna from the soviet radio -added more magnets to the screen back -added a few stickers 😊

so the superglue on the hinges for the cyberdeck couldn’t hold the weight of the lid with the screen attached so i just snagged some lil screws at the habit for humanity on my way home from work that should do the trick to hold the weight better

💾🧵 cyberdeck update: ultimately i had to scrap my top transparent orange panel that i literally spent hourrrsss cutting out just so i could get everything to fit, BUT it DOES all fit now!! i put magnets on the back of the screen making it easily detachable and so everything closes nicely still…
