This seriously was the most epic #UltramanDay in recent memory. The journey from being a kid watching old tapes to actively working *with* Tsuburaya has been a wild one. It's equal parts adventure, good friends, and great memories. All the same, Happy 60th Ultraman!

HUMAN VAPOR (2026) I keep wanting to call this one a movie despite it being a limited series. VFX were absolutely amazing, cast is solid, story is..alright. Not bad, just okay. Either way, still better than the BULLET TRAIN remake.

BACKROOMS (2026) The film? Easily one of the most beautifully shot flicks I’ve seen all year. Not so much a horror movie than it is a fever dream. My screening? Not great, thanks to the kid on their phone thru half of the movie. Also, the guys who barged in WITH PHONE LIGHTS ON in the finale. FML.

Spent the day in Chicago yesterday with friends. We went to the MSI for the Spider-Man exhibition and had some killer ramen. Given the way my morning has been going so far, I really wish I was back there.

Doing the voice acting recap thing before the year ends. Not a whole lot this past year but still some good opportunities.

Got my copy of the LUPIN III: THE CASTLE OF CAGLIOSTRO Steelbook from CR. Honestly, super bummed out as it arrived damaged. Worse, it took me 10+ mins to take it out of the slipcover. At least I have a copy of the movie finally, and the disc itself is stellar. But holy fuck, I'm getting a refund.

So I'm finally watching the original JANUS NO KAGAMI TV drama. I have gone from simply wanting the evil grandmother to be thrown from a cliff to CLAP-PUNCTUATION SCREAMING AT THE SCREEN BECAUSE I WANT TO SHAKE THE STUPID OUT OF THESE PEOPLE.

Watching GODZILLA MINUS ONE as a belated Godzilla Day treat. I forgot how much this scene hits close to home. There was a time where I felt that with everything I've been going through, I wasn't meant to live. Had an exact conversation like this with a close friend that helped to shake me out.

small victory of the week: the check I was waiting for came through. I was able to start building a pantry again to make sure I’m not caught dead in the water again. it’s felt like forever since I’ve been able to prepare meals for work. I’m going to work hard so I never have another gap again.

Workspace is about 15% back to normal. Just having to work out something for the floor but in the meantime, I can do basic recording again. It feels like I’m really starting out of the rut. Also the Thunderbirds March on loop while I work helps.

Have slowly started to put things back together from the flood salvage. One of the big things was that my folks had a three shelf setup of DVDs/BDs -- most I can't sell since Mom cut the cases into slimpacks Finally said screw it and got rid of the slimpacks. Less stuff to take back down now.

Managed to treat myself a couple weeks back and pre-ordered SUPER ROBOT WARS Y. Game finally released today. I’m an hour and some change in. It’s been worth the wait with some fun surprises so far.

THE GREAT CHASE/華麗なる追跡 (1975) The wonderful people at Neon Eagle Video released one of my favorite Etsuko Shihomi movies. The spiritual predecessor to ROARING FIRE, it's guiltiest of pleasures with how over-the-top it is. If you're a fan of actionsploitation, you need to see this at least once!

I very subtly went to G-Fest this year for one day thanks to friends. I wish I could’ve been there for the full weekend, but Saturday alone was such a whirlwind of reunions, fated meetings, and fun memories. Also, I got to meet an Ultraman. Which is always awesome.

DOCTOR WHO, SERIES 2 (2025) - addendum Literally the only good thing that actually made me crack a smile was seeing [REDACTED] show up. It's the first time I've seen them written without an air of the previous showrunner's bungled self-righteousness.

DOCTOR WHO, SERIES 2 (2025) ....It started so damn strong, this season. Absolutely fantastic. And then the finale just dropped the whole damn tray. An incredibly frustrating finish that sours the whole series w/ the most lackluster [SPOILER] to date. Stressed & unenthusiastic about the future.

GATCHAMAN, VOL 1. (Mad Cave Studios) I think people are sleeping on this one. The ongoing series literally is just the show with new bits that expand the world, along with some killer one-shots and a Galactor spin-off miniseries. If you've ever dreamed of more GATCHAMAN-- don't miss this!

ROLL BOUNCE Yeah, this one just sort of happened! (Thank you, blessed Twitch streamer.) I remember seeing ads for it way back when, but it felt like it got buried fast. An incredibly underrated coming-of-age/dance battle movie, with a killer 70's soundtrack and great performances.
