Experiments with adding digital color to older pieces. Just helping them sing better with the newer pieces in the same series.

'Anxiety' for my oracle deck. A water elemental with half her face hidden beneath the water. Swirling eddies form in front of her face, blending with her hair. Original version was more of a true blue, but now it's more of a steely color.

Original version was more yellow, now it's a slightly more realistic green.

I'm going to try to make a new piece for #mermay but here's some old faves from 2020 for now. A lot of you liked my 'Anxiety' water fae, so here she is with her sisters. 💧

Renewal. Water elemental waist deep in the water, with hair flowing down like a waterfall. Her expression is serene. Watercolor, colored pencil, and white ink.

Regret. Water elemental looking over her shoulder sadly, with hair that blends into the water around her. Watercolor, colored pencil, and white ink.

Finally healed enough to paint. It's been a year since I last finished a painting, so I'm warming up by redoing an older piece that I never felt was totally finished. Lady of the Ivy. Feels appropriate to post her on Earth Day. 🌱

QTP with women ❤️‍🔥 Happy Women's Day!! ⚔️💫

Rage. Volcano goddess who looks like lava rising from the volcano with billowing smoke all around. Inspired by Pele, the Hawaiian goddess of volcanoes. Watercolor, colored pencil, and gouache.

Medusa Alone. Medusa sits in ivy covered ruins, having a quiet, tender moment with her curse, at night. Some of her snakes are restless, and she reaches out to comfort one in front of her face. Ink and watercolor.

Quan Yin and the Dragon. Quan Yin is the goddess of compassion, mercy, and kindness in Chinese mythology. She is often shown with a strong and majestic dragon. They are like the balance between Yin and Yang. Quan Yin wears a beautiful pink dress that matches pink flowers in the garden around her, and she touches the cheek of the blue dragon behind her, while looking directly at the viewer. She is calm and composed, and the dragon appears tame. There is swirling smoke all around. Ink and watercolor.

There are spectacular colors & surreal lines coming from the sun that look a little like stained glass aesthetic. Both OGs were made with colored pencil & watercolor & gouache.

They look ephemeral, and appear to be unraveling as they move through the sky, in a surreal way. There is a spiral pattern in the sky, and in her hair.

Owl School. This is a T-shirt design I made for Downtown Books & News in Asheville, NC.

Ink illustration of an owl classroom. The teacher is a large horned owl, and the students are small barn owls. They sit on books instead of chairs, and the classroom is in a patch of mushrooms. There is a framing element made of vines & leaves. It looks like you just walked into the classroom, and the teacher and some of the students are turning to look at you.
