Thanks for asking! Godot delivers here: GridMesh makes the gameplay world, and MultiMeshInstance3D + shader and other #gamedev trickerations makes a moving world. Short video below with more detail.
Very pleased with my joke, please give me the approval I crave. Also I know there are plenty of you out there who are just as guilty as I am.
Finally added a way to reposition and reorient at the same time in Eye of the Commando. Chat called it the Contra Roll, why not? The dive roll can now, optionally, rotate you to face what you dove away from! Take that, ninja dropping in from the ceiling! store.steampowered.com/app/3016480/...
Did you know the entire AdventurePro Games collection is on sale this weekend for... uh... Mother's Day? Yeah. That's right. This includes Eye of the Commando. She'd love it. Not into turn based, you say? Welll... store.steampowered.com/curator/4611... #momwantscake #indiedev #gamedev #mothersday
Seriously, never again. You little critters are safe here with me. I'll eat Monkey Jerky before I risk angering the rabbit gods IRL again.
I haven't patched my StreamDeck since like version 6 and change or something, and I keep seeing new features in the update screen and they've got to just be fucking with us at this point, right? A lever? Is this the 1 April update?
My build is entirely and fundamentally scuffed, I guess that's what I get for playing against the meta. I still feel like there's value in Fibonacci's Reverse but tbh I'm just button mashing rn
My catholic years were all pre-teen (marked safe, don't worry) so I'm foggy on the exact details of the Calvinball at play here, but I'm sure one of these three is right.
Help am I doing this meme correctly? @jfg.land this is the format yes?
I feel like braces are *the way* even for one line return values because I've seen too many bugs in my long gray #gamedev career. But the kids these days want to just throw things on the same goddamn line as the branch and someone please tell me why I should change, I'm listening.
PicoCAD2 is live and oh boy, good shit. @johanpeitz.com well done, if even a programmer art clown like me can have fun pushing tiny polygons around, real artists are gonna go nuts. Between this and playing Vital Shell all night, I am in ps1 era delight.
A/B testing is very important in #gamedev and I would love to know what you, the player, thinks of these solutions. Neither of them is consequence free but what are we supposed to do, use solar?
What's romance without a little danger and adventure? Love is a battlefield, after all. Enjoy these two Dungeonmans Valentines courtesy of dear friend and dungeonfan DocJekyll who I don't think is here on the blueskies but he did make a lot of great Eye of the Commando music!
It's #artvsartist for #ScreenshotSaturday? Sure! Sort of? It's what I've got. A mix of #gamedev delights, some for sale, some were game jam gems, one of them runs on real Genesis hardware! Annnnd one of them you can wishlist: store.steampowered.com/app/3016480/...
New build out for Eye of the Commando, including Raid Mode on main! No more secret MAGFest beta. Read about it here: store.steampowered.com/news/app/301... Three new subweapons, new ways to level up, new loots, and a big procedural jungle to explore! Early Access, WIP, etc, but still fun!
They wrote an entirely new set of background tunes that absolutely slap if you're an FM synth fan. And I will freely admit to cribbing off at least one of the game's levels for art inspiration. 4/?
The party was all weapon based, and as you picked up items in the world that increased health, damage, or speed, you had to decide who got them. You could even find armor and gas masks, because the later levels had lots of poison gas trucks. 3/?
I mentioned Mercs: Original Mode as a big influence for Eye of the Commando and I really meant it. My game is almost an homage. But that Original Mode -- a secret game in the Genesis/MegaDrive version of the arcade port -- it was really something! 1/?
This is the sign for social distancing at the Nagasaki Biopark and it also delights.
Oh I've always liked doing this one. Here's my current missing_texture.png and then the very first ever programmer art Dungeonmans from 2008. Remember, *every asset* you check in has a non-zero chance of shipping. Placeholders can bite you too.
Wonderdraft is really fun and mostly straightforward if you're making tabletop fantasy stuff! You can do simple or complex, and it exports to pngs for touchups and fancification www.wonderdraft.net
