A quiet moment #SIGNALIS

A digital painting of Ariane and Elster sitting in the Stern Observatory on the Penrose 512. Their chairs are pushed together, facing the porthole. A grayish purple light fills the center of the room where they sit, softly falling on the the two. The chairs cast a dark shadow behind both of them.

Ariane sits with her head resting on Elster’s shoulder. Both of their faces are expressionless as they look towards the floor, at nothing. Ariane’s hair has grown past her shoulders and there’s a bandage on her arm, as well as one on her leg. Elster holds her hand where the armrests of their chairs meet.

The best hiding spot in the EULR dorm #signalis

A digital painting of the EULR dorm in S-23. A group of 8 corrupted Eules huddle around the mirror, eager to catch a glimpse of themselves. They lean towards it, parallel to the mirror’s angle. Another corrupted Eule is walking from the darkness to join the group. Each of their heads has become a ball of swollen flesh. Blood stains their bodies and bits of flesh grow over their plastic shells.

Hiding behind the mirror, pushed uncomfortably close to the edge of the painting, is an uncorrupted Eule. She also leans with the angle of the mirror. Her head is turned away from the corrupted Eules as she closes her eyes, trying to be as quiet as possible. There’s a tiny smear of blood on her chest plate.

In the foreground is a table with a lamp, a food tray, rations, and the Eule's broken tape player which has a knife sticking out of it. The room is dark and lit only by the desk lamp. Long shadows are cast on the walls and bunk beds from the cluster of Eules.

Back at the beginning #Signalis

A digital painting of the Nurse Station in S-23’s hospital wing. A lone Eule sits in a chair in the center of the painting. She has a troubled expression on her face as her head hangs low. Her eyes are closed, but her line of sight leads to an open palm which rests on her lap.

Behind her is a large window separated into three vertical sections by two muntins. The Eule inside the room is silhouetted by the left-most section. To the right of her, two corrupted Eules wander the hallway with knives in their hands. Each corrupted unit occupies a single window pane.

Within the Nurse Station are three desks - one in front of the Eule with a computer keyboard, and two in the back by the window. A computer sits on one of the desks and two empty chairs sit in front. On the back wall near the left corner is a door. To the left of that are two medical cabinets. Above them hangs a propaganda poster featuring two Eules saluting with the nation’s flag behind them. Three smaller pieces of paper, similar to sticky notes, cover portions of the poster.

I don't know how much credit I can take for that since I used Blender to set up the basic shapes 😅 I was spending waaay too much time trying to decide which angle to place each cabinet at while also trying to draw them in perspective so I gave up lol. It saved me a bunch of time!

It's hard to look at her #signalis

A digital painting of the ICU 02 room in S-23’s hospital wing. It’s a wide shot of the room showing medical cabinets and beds arranged in a chaotic setup with drawers left opened. Along the glass walls are several oxygen tanks colored red and blue. A damaged box of revolver ammo sits on one of the cabinets with most of its bullets missing. Smears of blood (maybe replika oxidant) stain the tops of three cabinets.

Tucked away in the back of the room behind a glass wall is a gestalt in an oxygen tent. Elster stands nearby, posed as if she’s frozen in place, looking down at her. To the left of Elster are 5 computer monitors that are connected to the gestalt. 4 of the screens are on.

The center of the room is mainly lit by a saturated yellow light while the back wall of the room is lit by a harsh cool white light that falls on the cabinets, computers, IV stand, the bed with the oxygen tent and Elster. The shadows are a muddy reddish brown.

Trying something new #BreathoftheWild #TheLegendofZelda

There’s a thick layer of atmosphere that separates three layers of mountains from the foreground cliff. They are lit from behind by the sun which sits above them. It’s a high key painting so areas lit by the sun are compressed and brighter than they would normally be with some areas coming close to white. Shadows are in the middle value range and contain most of the detail in the painting.
