Not always paying attention to what is going on. Unless wood is involved.
Look at how she sleeps (it’s cooler on the kitchen tiles). Her little paws!
Our London wegellia, just outside our bedroom window was my pride and joy.
Fire progressing and reinforcing towards the SE. Not yet crossed the A63 motorway thank god. The bit I have circled on the zoomed picture is the LMJ, the French National Ignition Facility if you want. Nothing serious there 😬
More evacuations. The fire has started to make its way east- and southeastwards towards Bordeaux. The Bordeaux to Bayonne A63 motorway is closed.
News not so good this morning. 7 towns have been evacuated overnight, including the bits of Mérignac and Eysines outside the rocade. The fire progressed east during the night. We’re taking friends from Eysines nad their cat in. It’s grim.

View from the back of the pool. This summer’s holiday will be spent turning the shed to the left of the video into my woodworking shop (it needs sound and heat insulation).
Our friend William has brought us a Monstera when visiting us in our new house for the first time!
Plus: I am off until 15/07 Minus: I am moving this week in a heatwave. However I should be completing on both houses on Friday and move in to the new swimming pool-featuring place on Friday. Just in time for the storms. 🙃
Kobe has an outstanding carpentry museum, featuring kigumi joinery, naturally, as well as nods to other traditions (including western and Chinese). The place could absolutely feature in your portfolio.
I mean come on! (Sorry Tennessee Williams for Mixing you up with Truman Capote)
Oh yes! Of course. I forgot the biggest weirdest the one. The WWii Kriegsmarine indestructible (short of a nuke) submarine and pens built by Spanish Republican slave Labour. Now a popular art venue.
Au moins c’est un avion sur la photo, ç’aurait pu etre pire. Et ça c’est un c-17 de l’armée de l’air américaine.
