Jilly has been off the steroids for about 36 hours and has returned to her old self. Hoping we can keep her off them, because that was no quality of life for my poor little girly. I'll take a month of her like this over six months of her as she was on the steroids.
Jill isn't responding well to steroids, so I called the vet this morning. Big old misunderstanding on the call back when they suggested I take her in to be euthanized. Not what I was asking an opinion on at all. I just wanted to know how to get her off the steroids to see how she'd do without...
Even though she's not a fan of having her picture taken, Jilly Beans has provided me with some gems...
I know its terrible quality (this is what cellphones used to be like, LOL). She has a number of really sweet moments from her time with us, and this is one of them. Looking out the window in her favourite place, hugging Mr Lion.
You'd think they were best buddies from this pic, but I think the actual story is a bit different. I'll leave it vague. She's a beautiful soul, and you don't need to know about her dark early years. Pressing into Jack was her comfort. Jack didn't care.
Doggo was back to the vet today. Not good news. At this point its almost certainly a brain lesion. Steroids to hopefully give her quality of life for a bit longer. Although she has been sick for a month or so, I wasn't expecting this. Gonna be lots of Jilly pics for a while. Starting with my fave.
As accustomed as we are to saying sorry, we do make exceptions, and I believe this is one.
In years to come archaeologists will dig up my wood work and exclaim “what the f*** is that?”.
Considering a new car, but today mine reached a measley 40,000km. It's coming up 8 yrs old. It has some rust and the drivers door lock button doesn't work. Otherwise, running great. Only real reasons to replace would be to go back to AWD and run out of car payments before I retire in 5 or 6yrs.
This tamping station has been a labour of love in both design and build. It has been hit with multiple problems and required re-engineering in order to make the top bit without destroying it during machining. I've made a couple more tweaks since this one, and will mill the final piece this week.
Made a new version of my infinity bowl. Don’t look too close! First project with walnut. Managed to get some construction leftovers to work with. Bit nicer than pine!
Can't get over what a fantastic album this is. May have listened to it several hundred times.... this year.
…and there it is. The finished product. Apart from the tear out, which I think is pretty normal for pine, it did come out how I thought it would.
Concocting something in the workshop. It’s an exercise in detail more than something that’s actually useful. Can you guess what it is yet?
I guess he wasn't on the distribution list. 😆 Education minister threatens MUN with a tuition freeze until they address their fiscal challenges (rolls eyes) just minutes after they announced a reduction in executive positions from seven to three, saving approx. $1million per year.
Needs a bit of sanding, but this looks a bit better. Incorporated my logo too.
Version 2 ready for machining. Portafilter holder in the bottom right might be too close to the edge. We'll see if it matters.
Drafting/protoyping an espresso tamping station with a doggie in tow. Or actually the whole paw.
I designed and made a pair of legs for a platform project last night. Everything went beautifully, until it was time to remove the pieces from my machine. The tape I used was too strong, and both legs got destroyed as I tried to remove them. Thicker/solid wood and less sticky, next time. 😀
Kind of leveled my spoilboard today, and because I have the memory of a goldfish, I added a reminder to reset zero. I also made a star for the Christmas tree because the shop bought one is too heavy to stay in position. #rookiedesignmistakes
I love my espresso machine, but I do regret not paying the extra $100 for wooden accents. The plastic taps and handles felt really cheap. I commissioned someone to make me some wooden ones out of Macassar Ebony, and they're beautiful. #moreespressolessdepresso #espresso #coffee
Getting better at this latte art thing. The tail is just because I have a bit of milk left over and a bit of empty cup to put it in.
Just read a MUN advisory referring to Petro-Canada Hall in the School of Music. It hasn't been called that in 12 years. 😆
Middle Cove looking to Outer Cove, from high up.
Looks like Brazil has turned his pub into an Embassy or something. Can't spell tongues.
