Wrong. Art is not about the process of creating it. I guess you've never been to a contemporary art museum. They're full of stuff that anyone could make, but didn't think of. Art is all about the artist's imagination. AI brings the artist's imagination to life. That's why AI art is art.
Russian trolls use AI to create anti-democratic propaganda, and they're trying to prevent Democrats from using AI because it's so effective. While Americans are brainwashed to attack Democrats who use AI, other countries (China!) are way ahead in AI design.
No, AI does not simply copy preexisting things. Maybe in the beginning. But nowadays AI learns about art in the same way a human art student does. Today AI can make anything you can possibly imagine, including completely new, original stuff.
