Man about cowtown
@manaboutcowtown
Calgarian, flaneur and gadabout. If you followed manaboutcowtown on other channels in the past, yep same dude. He/Him 🇨🇦
I am on a real Jessie Ware kick lately. Particularly this compilation from Apple Music. Which makes even my old ass want to dance. music.apple.com/ca/album/dis...
Our modern world: My attempt to gauge the price of replacement blades for a reciprocating saw served me up a shopping tile for this waffle maker. Comes in “hotdog” or “abalone” options. I wonder how algorithmically as I don’t remember searching for waffle irons recently. Genital shaped food sure.
The latest in my years long series of photos with Calgary minor celebrity Allen the Alpaca. He is timeless while each day I inch towards the mall Santa I seemed destined to become.
Oh boy. Looking at the long term forecast made “Singing in the Rain” pop into my head.
So a radio host turned Premier who once suggested we feed recalled tainted meat to the unhoused and said that hydroxychloroquine could cure Covid is claiming she knows more than a judge about the law. You call bullshit. Don’t forget she once rolled this out as her campaign bus.
My 9 y.o. and I bought these as an impulse purchase at the grocery store. Extruded corn cheese ball like texture with dill pickle chip type flavour. Honestly not bad.
Yesterday our solar system generated 2X the amount of the electricity we use on peak use winter days. With micro generation credits, from now til the snow flies I don’t have an Enmax bill - and not just electricity, the entire bill - water, waste collection plus a bit of a monthly credit too.
I would note that the above was driven by the fact I am currently sitting on a bench in the spring sunshine and this is my view. And the new Grateful Dead app is playing something from the late 70s in my headphones. Like I said, blessed and lucky.
Also I find it deeply ironic that the Premier and leader of a Government that is putting into law that only impartial neutral flags can be shown in the class has done live streams with a Gadsden flag in the past. Just hypocritical assholes of the highest order.
Having fun with the Dune font thingy. Don’t have the software to add a Bobby Atreides though.
Umm did my anxiety co-author this list of potential risks that my daughter’s school sent out for an upcoming outdoor field trip?
Oh was going to include a screen shot here on this Sunny March day.
There was some old Upper Deck cards left in my office so I made this “wall of excellence” on my keyboard. Jordan, Jackson, Ryan and the Wizard of Oz. Sometimes when I am frustrated I think about Nolan Ryan/Robin Ventura and it calms me down. And oft jokingly tell myself to “piss excellence.”
I think this is a perfect sign on a new restaurant near my office. Everything I need to know. No notes.
Just going to toss this into the current discourse. Helen of Troy was not a real person and her father was Zeus who conceived her while in the shape of a swan. Also Romeo and Juliet doesn’t have guns but Baz Luhrman’s version rips and last time I checked John Leguizamo isn’t from fair Verona.
One more shameless plug for the performance I’ll be a part of next Sunday. I joined this group last year but it’s celebrating it’s 11th year and filled with talented amateurs who love to sing and have been working for months to bring it to life. Live band too. www.tickettailor.com/events/sings...
This blowhard saying “If Ottawa play hardball and tries to cut off our money once Alberta becomes independent from Canada.” Umm what does he think independent means? Also his use of “Globalist Media” is also a well-established dog whistle of antisemites and White Nationalists every where.
So creator Jacob Tierney confirmed on a podcast that all the team logos are innuendo. (You can hear it in theYouTube link.) The cannon from Boston always points towards the umm “metro” of Montreal. And the building on the Admirals logo is a… m.youtube.com/watch?v=53Uk...
Also unrelated but since I’m down memory lane anyway, watching Catherine Bach as Daisy Duke was probably the first time I remember having a crush on a fictional character.
Pretty sure the next year (or maybe previous year) I got the General Lee and Bo and Luke from the Dukes of Hazzard. Some truly anachronistic adventures ensued with all of them together.
I don’t know, if I were a Premier who had been widely criticized for cuts to social programs, including clawing back monthly Federal funding increases from folks with severe disabilities, I don’t think I’d have the lack of shame to post pictures of me beaming at a photo opportunity at a Food Bank.
This goofball is 65 lbs. of grumpy, spoiled, hair shedding trouble - yesterday she stole 3 pieces of pizza off the counter - but is one of my favourite creatures in the whole world.
Was Captain Highliner always this….. I’ll just say it, fuckable? Like he can he get it no?
When I was a young boy My father took me into the city To see a marching band He said, "Son, when you grow up Would you be the savior of the broken The beaten and the damned?
Nurse Ratched. We’re all Jack Nicholson and our “medication” is an Alberta Pension Plan, privatized healthcare, an Alberta police force and other initiatives even her own polling has shown Alberta doesn’t want.
Love Overboard but it’s Big Trouble in Little China for me. In which Russell as the “hero” does almost nothing to affect the overall outcome of the plot.
Current work listen - Midnite Vultures by Beck. Underrated album imho.
Ok done. I checked registration online months ago but still had to complete the form which just had info already on the large voters role and my ID. Why? Does Sam Mraiche have a contract with the UCP that charges double for forms with carbon paper? One hour and fifty minutes to vote.
Or a remodel of the bungalow like this one currently listed in Glamorgan. Which I assume is more representative of what the single family houses listed for 600k will become given the number of folks doing house flips these days.
