Carol Mapley Art
@mappers
Scottish abstract artist trying to find beauty in the bin fire of life.
You asked, I listened! Individual cards are now in my store! Birthday? Good luck? A card for someone who has everything? A slightly passive-aggressive “thinking of you” card? I’ve got you. Basically… you’re now in charge of the card chaos. Choose wisely. 😌😂 🎨🖤
Today’s tiny scenes. Timeline cleanse and a visual hug for those who need it 🖤
It’s time! Introducing new stuff *jazz hands*. All new products are under £30 including shipping (which took some wizardry). Head over to www.carolmapleyart.com to check them out the whole range. Sharing is caring and a huge support to independent artists 🫶🏻
The past few weeks have nearly broken me trying to get this new phase over the line. But I made it! #art #artist #abstract #scottish #independentartist
Inspired by yesterday’s trip to Greyhope Bay, abstract seascapes. Originals only (no prints) £55 including postage. Mounted, backed, celly wrapped and logoed.
I don’t have the reserves for shiny promotions and whatever else I should be doing right now. So have a heavy dose of realness instead. #art #grief #healing #mentalhealth #artist
Photography day in the studio today. Seven, yes SEVEN, new works ready for their close ups with Natalie Hood Photography.
Coming soon. Playing with Knives. No brushes, only palette knives. Let’s see where it takes us. #art #abstractart #artist #fyp #scottish
On a quest for some joy these 2 absolute riots of colour appeared. #abstractart #art #artist #texture
Woke up today and decided I hated this painting. The palette is bleak (yes I know Scottish weather is too), the texture was too pronounced and it just wasn’t working. So I’ve set to work pushing back and changing the texture. Not every piece is a success and that’s okay. We try again.
Gentle neutrals and golds for this one. “Highland Hush” 24” x 20” textured acrylic on deep edge canvas.
Something I’ve avoided for decades, the dreaded self portrait. Step way out of my comfort zone with this. It’s not a polished “look at me” but a raw, messy, uneven truth.
Sage green, burnt orange and gold commissions off to their new home.
