The climate crisis is real. When the humidex reaches 46°C, daily routines change. Sidewalks empty, public transit becomes stifling, outdoor workers face dangerous conditions, and the greatest burden falls on those without air conditioning, stable housing, or access to cooling centres.

The death of critical journalism even as many responsible and serous journalists find themselves in the crosshairs of authoritarian and neofascist regimes.
Manufacturing memory, truth and consent. That's what journalists often do even when they claim to be heroically standing up to power and speakg truth. The Guardian report illustrates what often happens instead.
Journalists are not academics or social researchers. But they should at least try to get context and history minimally right.
