Statue of Uncle Sam in Troy, NY (home of RPI). Butcher Samuel Wilson supplied rations to the US Army during the War of 1812, and stamped his boxes U.S. which the soldiers jokingly referred to as Uncle Sam's.
Every time I'm at my place in the Hudson Valley, I appreciate the sunset (over the Catskills, the other side of the Hudson River).
He's my grandson and a bunch of smallies playing Gaelic football in the snow this morning in Sunnyside, Queens. Moving to indoor practices after this week!
Read this book to my grandson last night and wow, wow, wow, what a great book (about books). I cannot recommend it enough.
