About dot com memories: I wrote things for that around 2002(?) My favorite was an illustrated guide to make a double-gatefold CD sleeve from a piece of 8.5x11" paper, which I invented because I was putting short films on VideoCD-Rs but couldn't afford jewel cases. I found it in my digital archive:

The only reason this is true is because most people don't read the newspaper and are only exposed to the shitty takes via social media headline screenshots. It's survivorship bias where the bad takes are the only ones that survive long enough to make it to your Bluesky feed.

My main reaction to the new Wolverine game footage is that they wanted it to be really, really bloody, but couldn't commit to having Logan be stained red for more than 5 seconds. Either go for it or don't, gang.

Watching an *18 year old* TV show ("Fringe" season 1) and saw what I thought was the latest Macbook Pro. Helps that the image is slightly out of focus, I guess, but it's wild how little of its industrial design has changed.

Listen, I get it, I do, but Talking Heads' cover of "Take Me to the River" is often a skip for me. It's mainly there to keep me from Crosseyed and Painless.

I've always had difficulty maintaining a sleep schedule, but I'm in an pretty rough bout of it right now. Turns out, my plan of walking back and forth across the river for half an hour at dawn *does* tire me out, but doesn't make me sleepy, so I donno. I did take this excellent photo, though:

Someone please give me AAA money to make a 100% faithful video game tie-in adaptation of 1971's "The Andromeda Strain." Despite being a slow talky science drama, it's already very video game-coded, and the book it's based on is formatted as a series of diegetic logs.

I like the SFA one. The collar tapers up the neck which feels futuristic. The monster maroon variant works for me for lore reasons, but I hated the puffy turtleneck and chunky belt, so. A good reverse of this is Odo's collar, added when the actor asked for one (to match his mirror universe outfit).

I re-listened to the much-maligned Bowie and Jagger version of "Dancing In The Street" and I have to say that it actually does not hold up at all everyone was right it remains cringe.
