I’m not sure I want to eat food that secretly tastes like someone’s behind (yes, this is a real restaurant).
Opened the app, took a brief scroll, screaming and outrage, nope. Out of bandwidth. Here’s my cat.
Snooze Kitty is very snoozy this evening. Also, I went for a walk, and the sea was still there.
I’d call Gotcha Day a success. Indigo didn’t like being bundled into a cat carrier, and the trip home took a little longer than ideal, but we made it. After hiding under the bed for an hour and a half, the little dude decided to come out and say hi. He likes headbutts. I am for this.
Last night this fox was hanging out on the sidewalk near the station. He let me come quite close (I didn’t try to touch him). I asked how he was doing, but he didn’t say anything. I thought he might have been injured or sick but he might also have been relaxing and indifferent to humans.
Technically this is still the London commuter belt, but that’s just fine. It’s a short walk to the station, and I can be at Victoria in an hour and a half. Or I can walk ten minutes the other way and see this.
At the risk of being repetitive, here’s the view from this evening’s walk. The sea was like glass. There was barely a breeze, but it was cool. After six years of tolerating (barely) where I lived, this is gorgeous.
Aggravated an old foot injury a week ago. Bounced back faster than expected. Went for my first (slow) walk this evening, just in time to see mysterious things happening at Worthing Pier. I love that this is a 10min walk from my flat.
First primrose of the season. The (irritating) neighbors even have a crocus blooming, and the daffodils by my front door are only a few days out. Nice change from all this fucking rain. I’m not one to whinge about the weather, but JFC I am sick of this shit.
I’m almost flattered! My work was actually stolen to feed Meta’s AI! Except I was not asked, did not consent, and was not remunerated. Sigh.
Today is/was/would have been Moosh Monster’s 15th birthday. Instead, he’s been gone for a month. 😿
Hello. Just me this time as the cat is no longer around for photo ops.
Sort of more at peace about my cat now. The poor little guy was not in great shape at the end. But I also don’t feel like we let it go on too long: he had that rally just before the sharp decline. The loss has been shattering but it didn’t exactly come out of the blue. I do miss him, though. 💔
I’d like to thank the people, including many who don’t know me at all, for the words of kindness in the last couple of days. I’m holding it together but also getting the hell out of here next week. I’ll be in London, Brighton, and Worthing. Three months of misery now. I need a change of scene.
My beloved Moosh Monster exited the scene earlier today (2 Feb 2025). Last week brought a sharp, sudden decline. He had stage 4 CKD, and rallied in the last couple of months. Our borrowed time ended rather abruptly, but I am forever grateful for the time we had. RIP my sweet little guy 2010-2025.
Bit of a scare in Monsterland. The Moosh went off his food for two days. Couple of tiny nibbles. Late stage CKD means this is not a good sign. Terror was felt. Vets were contacted. Conversations were had. This morning, he snapped out of it and ate like a horse, and has done so all day. Thank fuck.
