Martechi@martechi· Jun 27 As it's been requested a few times, here's a proper overview on the USS Marigold, including some stats and background #scifiart

Martechi@martechi· Jun 26 First time in a long while doing #StarTrek fanart, with the brand-new Starship U.S.S. Marigold on her exciting first adventure: Satellite maintenance.
Nothing about Trek fascinates me more than daily life in this whacky universe. #scifiart

Martechi@martechi· Jun 19 There's too much summer heat to do something fresh this week. Time to bring back an old #Babylon5 model of one of my absolute favorite starships of all time #scifiart

Martechi@martechi· Jun 19 Slowly but surely, the new Gondwana setting is taking shape. We got a small fleet approaching one yet uncontacted world, ready to bring it back into the Union's fold.
As an aside, I bet you can easily guess my two favorite scifi settings in terms of visual design. #scifiart

The prequel era brought many of my favorite starship designs in all of Star Wars to the table. One by one, I'm sneaking them into my Helldivers animations! Roger roger #scifiart

Martechi@martechi· May 14 Some shots from the Gates of Cambria

Martechi@martechi· Apr 28 The third installment of Bonfire Strategion posed the question which ally to join in the upcoming battle. To my surprise, most voted for a cautious approach. So now, a defensive space battle is slowly taking shape. #scifiart

Martechi@martechi· Apr 28 I love the ships of #Babylon5 's Brakiri. Big, bulky, not quite organic but still shaped in such an alien way. Always fun to work on #scifiart

Martechi@martechi· Apr 28 Codex shots of the Schwalbe, the first and smallest spaceship featured in the Union Projekt animations! #scifiart

Some new renders of my old Babylon 5 and Starfury models. I've always loved the busy civilian traffic portrayed in the show #scifiart

The latest installment of Strategion introduced the Kindred Fortress. I love cities and fortifications in space, and I blame treasure planet for that #scifiart

At the height (or depth?) Of playing Deep Rock Galactic, I tried to match the artstyle and build my very own minecart rollercoaster. Rock and Stone! #scifiart

It's been years since I last did some #startrek fan art, but i still like the idea of more extravagant station designs iterating on the beloved space mushroom. #scifiart

Ships in space and on the table! For the latest animation I tried doing a bit of a transition between the proper space scene and a more stylized gold and marble thing. Perhaps the first of many!

Martechi@martechi· Feb 20 Missile combat in space!
In line with the cold-war theming for Projekt Union, it's got now a bunch of scare missiles, counter measures, emergency maneuvers, and terribly grainy camera footage to boot! #scifiart

Martechi@martechi· Feb 20 Projekt Union continues this week with two new entries!
One of them is a handy guide to FTL travel in this setting, presented with all the obtuse-60s TV station-powerpoint glory that I could muster.
Fun fact: All the historical illustrations there are from east-german poststamps! #scifiart

Martechi@martechi· Feb 14 Cross-section of a shell-world segment for a little Bonfire Adventure we played a while ago. One fallen kingdom, three mythic peoples, and a quest to slay dragons at the heart of the ruins. It was great fun!
#scifiart

Martechi@martechi· Feb 12 SES Millennium Bug reporting in!
Making Helldivers space battles continues to be super satisfying. This time around, I clipped some Democracy Officer voicelines for that Medieval 2 battlespeech feel #scifiart

There was only ever really one ship I could use as the basis for a Super Earth battleship, the greatest joke of 21st century navies... so here it is, the most glorious, bestest and most amazing ship of the Golden Super Earth Fleet #Helldivers #scifiart

My favorite part of worldbuilding is map making, trying to present an idea and atmosphere with it. For Bonfire Stars, I've tried doing something tactile and physical, like it could be sitting on somebodies desk #scifiart

Auferstanden aus Ruinen, one might say!
The Union Projekt has kicked off with a first animation and a new way of going about worldbuilding for me: chopped up radio transmissions.
I'm embracing east german socialist space moods for this one, let's see if that's for someone out there! #scifiart

Weaponized space shuttles are a favorite of mine ever since the Forever War comics.
So far, I've only ever added them to the Terran Mandate setting. It's time to add some more! #scifiart

Martechi@martechi· Jan 30 A thousand years into the future, Starfleet is finally catching up to the Suliban's design philosophy of "what if modular *everything*"
They may not like to admit it, but cell ships are what peak starship performance looks like!

Martechi@martechi· Jan 28 I've done a few megastructure depictions over the years. It's always nice to have them as the backdrop for a setting, though I rarely take full advantage of them. #scifiart

Martechi@martechi· Jan 28 TAGEBAU continues with the Union Sprawl, grand city of the desert behind high walls of iron and concrete.
I've been to Dresden recently, so inspirations for socialist Plattenbau facades were plentiful.
#scifiart

Martechi@martechi· Jan 28 Because #Helldivers2 draws from so many different SciFi inspirations, it's a great setting to do all kinds of modelling experiments in. In this case: An organic FTL space bug! I've never messed with creature design or organic animations before, so this is a whole new world.

Martechi@martechi· Jan 28 I once tried modelling the Cobalt Frigate from the new #sinsofasolarempireII and it turns out: As much as I like the look of TEC designs, modelling them was a pain and a half. Never again!

Martechi@martechi· Jan 28 I love them so much! That one shot of their rapid-fire blasing through a shadow ship will be forever burned into my brain.

Martechi@martechi· Jan 28 I rarely post these, but I sometimes enjoy doing little mock-up sets for TTRPGs we're playing, like this old space-whale-hunter tavern on a floating star isle in Bonfire Stars. Good times were had getting a quest to investigate cursed moonstones.
We never got to see a live whale, though.

Martechi@martechi· Jan 27 The first #StarTrek show to show me a genuine MAERSK-level container megafreighter will become my instant favorite, no questions asked. The lack of proper space traffic in shows like DS9 is a travesty.
#Babylon5 set an example we've yet to reach again.
