🚀 New plugin for the AI Unified Process! AI Unified Process now supports another very popular application stack contributed by Marc Affolter. A special thank you to Marc for contributing his work and helping the AI Unified Process ecosystem grow! 👉 unifiedprocess.ai/tools.html
I am happy to share that I have been renewed as an Oracle ACE Pro for 2026/2027! Thank you to the Oracle ACE Program and the whole community. It is an honor to be part of this group again and to keep sharing knowledge about Java, databases, and building real business applications. #OracleACE #Java
🎟️ Anmeldung: www.meetup.com/de-de/jug-ha...
New tutorial online: Build a web app with the AI Unified Process unifiedprocess.ai I published a new step-by-step tutorial for the AI Unified Process: Build a web app from a blank canvas to a tested application. You can find the tutorial here: unifiedprocess.ai/tutorial.html
Next week will be a busy one: two conferences, two talks, and two topics that are very close to my current work. martinelli.ch/appearances/ #SpecDrivenDevelopment #AIUnifiedProcess #SoftwareArchitecture #SelfContainedSystems #AI #SoftwareEngineering

AI tools for developers are useful. But they are not enough. If AI is getting better and better at programming, why are we focusing almost all innovation on coding tools? Read more here: martinelli.ch/ai-tools-for-developers-are-not-enough/
Excited about my upcoming speaking engagements this spring 2026. Looking forward to the conversations, the exchange of ideas, and meeting members of the community along the way. If you are attending one of these events, let’s connect.
Daily reminder: to do spec-driven development, you need requirements and specs, not tools! unifiedprocess.ai
I’ve brought something together that many people have asked me for. 👉 unifiedprocess.ai/articles.html The site now contains a curated collection of my articles on Spec-Driven Development and the AI Unified Process.
I'm very proud to be in the top 4! 🚀 www.techtalksweekly.io/p/issue-93
The jChampions conference is a free online conference and I'm very excited to talk about Spec-driven Development at this event! jchampionsconf.com
2 days left to register for our workshop on Spec-Driven Development (SDD). If you’ve found AI coding assistants a bit unpredictable lately, this session is about adding structure to that process. You can register here: www.eventbrite.com/e/hands-on-s...
I’m happy to share that I’m in the top 3% of the most active speakers worldwide in 2025, according to Sessionize. A big thank you to all conference organizers, attendees, and the amazing community. Looking forward to many more talks, discussions, and exchanges in the future 🚀
While it looks impressive and being in the top 1%, especially considering this is only the code I publish on GitHub, not the code I write for my clients, I have to admit I have a colleague. His name is Claude 😉
The holiday card just arrived before the new year. Thank you @sharatchander.bsky.social Happy New Year!
I like to explain the difference between vibecoding and spec-driven development with a cooking analogy. Cooking is vibecoding. You start with an idea, try things out, taste, and adjust. Baking is spec-driven development. You define everything upfront: ingredients, quantities, order, timing.
I believe that with AI agents, separated frontend and backend development is slowly coming to an end. One language, one model, one flow. Less coordination, less friction, more focus on business logic. AI does not just change how we write code. It changes how we should structure our systems.
Yee-haw 🥳 That’s huge, I was accepted to speak at JavaOne next year again! Thanks a lot to the content team around @sharatchander.bsky.social #JavaOne
Today and tomorrow, I'm giving a Vaadin workshop for a client team in Greece. Vaadin is the easiest way to build great web applications in Java. Interested? I do Vaadin workshops worldwide, either online or, upon request, on-site for your team. martinelli.ch/training/vaa...
20 years ago, we moved from client/server applications to web applications. 10 years ago, we moved from web applications to single-page applications (SPAs). What many still don’t realize: SPAs are client/server applications again. Technology changes - the architecture patterns repeat.
Fishing mails have reached a new level. The text is in Swiss German 😱
This book reminds me every day of the best decision of my career: my entry into the Java world. I don't know of any other ecosystem with such great people and technologies. Even in the age of AI, Java is ready. This book was published 20 years ago for Java's 10th anniversary. It's time for a new one
@bukama.bsky.social about Maven 4 at @jugch.bsky.social in Bern tonight 😀
