My sister planted up some pansies in my old mum's side border, which she really enjoys looking at out of her kitchen window I've been around every day during the heatwave to give them a watering, as they had shrivelled right up. I'm quite pleased how they've bounced back from the brink, for her 👍
Victoria Derbyshire showed Clarkson up for exactly what he stands for, at that farmers' protest. He really doesn't like defending himself against inconvenient facts. There are always receipts!
A lovely collection there, Ron! 👍 Here's how Google is identifying them:
Too warm to be out in the open this lunchtime, so mostly stayed in the shade of the woods by Arrowe Brook, both in the park, and then on to Harrock Wood. Some magnificent beech trees, offering a welcome cooling canopy. #ForestFriday
Royden Park and Thurstaston Hill on this morning's walk. I'm no expert, but I was surprised that the farmer has planted corn in the same field, two years running? Still .... what do I know about crop rotation? 🤷😄
Hooray! First blackberry pick of the year. Think I'll have them with some chopped apple, topped with crème fraîche 😛
This morning's walk took me from West Kirby to Thurstaston beach, via Caldy Steps and Dee Sailing Club. Absolutely gorgeous weather - hot, but a welcome breeze. However, I'm melting now! 🤣🌞😎
Hooray, the first blackberries ripening in the hedgerow! I'll be out harvesting within a few days 😛 I'm restricting myself to local evening walks at the moment, with it being so hot, and feel so lucky to have the countryside right on my doorstep 👍
Landican Village, about 7.15 this evening. What a scorcher of a day we've had! 😎🌞
Still 24°, but cool enough for an evening stroll around the more wooded and shaded areas of Arrowe Park. A few towering cumulative clouds bubbling up to the east. Arrowe Brook reduced to no more than sporadic pools of standing water
It seems counter-intuitive, but having a legal legal limit for an illegal substance allows smooth prosecutions and convictions
Made the tactical error ot taking the footpath onto the hill from Telegraph Road, past the little cave. The first section, which runs parallel with the road, was virtually impassable as completely hemmed in by ferns and brambles, but I stubbornly forced my way through 🫣🤣
Warm work on today's walk, from West Kirby, over Caldy Hill and Stapledon Wood, down the quiet paths towards Thurstaston Hill, before finishing with a refreshing cold fizzy pop at The Courtyard.
Same walk as last Saturday this afternoon, except this time, pressed on from Thingwall to Barnston, then across the farm fields to Heswall. Warm work! 😎
Spotted my neighbours' lovely garden display on the way home - they always have this toilet feature! 😁👍
Evening stroll around Arrowe Park and the farm fields behind. Striking mackerel skies - could be set for a glorious sunset later, although I will be watching 🇧🇷 v 🇳🇴 at the time - should be a good match! ⚽️
To me, the markings on this Gypsy Vanner horse, who I met on my travels the other day, make it look like it's carrying a human baby 👶 Or maybe I am just experiencing #Pareidolia. What do you think? 🤔😄
Just having a little sit off in Lancashire, waiting for the No. 17 bus 😁👍
