I love to travel. I’m a great cook. Work in a “glamour profession” — high school teacher. We can always talk about Star Trek and/or cats.
Oops! I made Chicken Francaise to root for France in the World Cup Semifinal. Maybe I should have made paella instead.
I sincerely love the people in this picture! My friends for 20+ years. Here we are in front of El Corte Inglés in Barcelona.
Just booked a trip to London for the week after Christmas. It’s group travel, with enough free time for me to see a few key places, like Covent Garden and Westminster Abbey. I’m thrilled! I love London so much!
Well, NYC, we’re cooked. Jim Cantore is covering the storm from Columbus Circle.
Double Chocolate Cupcakes with Chocolate Ermine Frosting. Hubby’s birthday is tomorrow - we’re ready to celebrate!
I made this graphic, but I can’t truly take credit for it. It is directly copied from something my Bio teacher drew on the board in the fall of 1987. I’ve used something like this in all my Bio classes since 1995. Now it’s digital!
A partial diagram of the Calvin Cycle, otherwise known as the light-independent reactions of photosynthesis. Slightly cropped to discourage thievery. (Honestly, I spent a ton of time creating this. Please don’t steal it.)
Started my Christmas the right way - watching the Yule Log on Channel 11, WPIX.
Last month, the Env-Sci classes did a “Leaf Identification” project. On their test, I asked them to ID 2 trees they observed for the project. A student called me over during the test and said, “I don’t know what kind of trees they were. I only identified the leaves.”
Another great day teaching Environmental Science! Here are a few samples from our Leaf Identification Project!
Got to hang out at the High Line and The Little Island today with the STEM Club!
Found a new Japanese market in Astoria! Got some matcha Kit-Kats. Next time, I’ll check out the sushi. (Full disclosure: I would have tried the sushi today if I had not had a long subway ride ahead of me. Insulated bag next time!)
Did someone say it was Ginger Cat Appreciation Day? I appreciate my little girl Daisy every day, not just today.
Did you ever go axe-throwing? Super fun way to spend an hour or so with your friends!
One of the most beautiful buildings in NYC - the Art Deco masterpiece - The Chrysler Building!
This was me, about a month ago, in Japan. It was 90+ Fahrenheit (32+ C) every single day. Best trip of my life! Never ever been so hot! 10/10 Would do again!
