Nothing says "relax and make yourself at home" quite like an Airbnb listing whose photos appear to be pulled straight from a security camera feed. 😅
Rode horses today on a trail in a park on a mountain under the HOLLYWOOD sign right smack dab in the middle of Los Angeles. I just can’t get over how much I’ve fallen for this city.
Loving these screenings at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures (@academymuseum.bsky.social)! Last night’s was Hitchcock’s “I Confess,” shown in 35mm. I’d actually never seen it before - loved it. (And, ya know, Guillermo del Toro(!) talking to us beforehand about the film was pretty rad, too.)
Seen in pics from D.C. Pride this past weekend. This sign maker deserves an award. #DC #CapitalPride
I know there are significantly more important things going on in the world, but it’s ‘Dupont' Circle (lowercase ‘p’) and not ‘DuPont,’ @latimes.com. —Signed, a former longtime Washingtonian
This weekend was packed with so much Pride fun that I almost forgot to mention I saw Backrooms. It was weird, unsettling, and genuinely scary, and I absolutely loved it. More horror films like this that rely on atmosphere and suspense instead of gore, please!
Or the day the MLB and/or the Dodgers sue him for trademark infringement and/or false endorsement for use of their logo in his campaign (including merch). (How on Earth have they not already done this?!)
Had the pleasure of visiting @hammer.ucla.edu for the 1st time and I can’t stop thinking about Carmen Argote’s piece in the Living Materials exhibit. It’s made of avocado, cochineal, & lemon juice! Incredible! It’s also massive in size & will decompose the paper it’s painted on, so it won’t last. 🤯
What a treat, on our 9-month anniversary weekend of living in L.A., to spend it walking along the beach, pausing to take in the scent of jasmine, admiring the jacaranda trees in bloom, and visiting the new Geffen Galleries at LACMA. This place truly is something special. @xminust.bsky.social
A resurrection if you will. And honestly, he might need a friend. If we are going to be an eyesore, we might as well commit, right?
Thanksgiving Sammy. Christmas Sammy. New Year’s Sammy. Valentine’s Sammy. A year round icon!
We put Sammy on our balcony for Halloween. He looked incredible. Effortless. Booked and busy.
WEHO Times reporting the Metro Board voted unanimously in support of the K Line’s northern extension through WeHo. Is it true? Is it true? @whamrail.bsky.social @johnericksonwh.bsky.social
This heatwave is wild. LA’s average high is 68-72°F! But I will say, it is IMMENSELY more tolerable because of how dry it is. This on the East Coast would be pea soup.
On this International Women's Day, I'm reminded of the Women's March in DC in 2017. Hundreds of thousands of people filled the streets mere days into T's first term, standing together for equality, dignity, and human rights. The sense of solidarity was incredible and unforgettable. #IWD
This is concerningly hot. The average high is 68°F and low is 50°F this time of year. #LosAngeles #CAWX
If my flight home does in fact end up leaving, I’ll be one of the lucky ones what with all the cancellations. 😬
Went to a screening of Blue Velvet last night at the Academy Museum as part of their tribute series honoring David Lynch. Kyle MacLachlan was there and he gave some opening remarks. He’s as funny and charming as he is dapper! (📸: @xminust.bsky.social)
It’s official: six months in L.A. today! Grateful doesn’t even begin to cover it.
My husband and I will be visiting family in Virginia for Christmas. How tf are we supposed to pack for this weather?! There's a low of 21°F and a high of nearly 70°F?!
Had a blast at my work holiday party last night at the Bradbury Building in DTLA. There was a sketch cartoonist, tarot & aura readers, and lots of delicious food & drinks in a very beautiful building. What a treat!
Vancouver, thank you for the hospitality, delicious food, and amazing scenery. I love that you’re < 3 hour flight from LA. Will see you again soon hopefully!
