Small (12 x 14) acrylic on arches paper. Loosely based on a mask that my mother brought back from China for me.
Here's an acrylic and Ink on Ram Board that I painted for a solo exhibit in Salisbury, CT. 2025. Aprox 37"x37" It's a weird one...
In studio today. Really sad about most but not all of the SCOTUS rulings this month. Even the “so called good ones”. Back doors to undoing Birth Right Citizenship via Congress and the Trans ban. And unlimited money…and… and…
Pride parade day. I live in a town founded in the 1700’s and where George Washington stayed many times in his travels..I was here today to support my community and friends and to keep pushing this good but flawed country to be better and more perfect.
Missing my dad as I always do on Father’s Day. He died young of pancreatic cancer in 1994, two days before Father’s day.
Portrait of my niece that I did about ten years ago. She’s in college now. Time flys.
My aunt Mary’s 100th birthday. Still in her own home and walking up and down stairs. Her secret? Decades of yoga exercise and of course becoming a regional slot car racer whilst in her 90th decade. Love you Aunt Mary Macher Darmen.
Work on used construction site Ram board. I left the prepped board out in the rain and snow for a few weeks before continuing. Not quite finished- it will let me know.
My dogs just hanging out in the rain and wet grass. I’m new to this 2 dog thing.
Soufflee and Apple Jack, another rescue. They love each other after only two weeks. But yeah, work. Work...
Small detail of a work in progress. So far it's acrylic, ink on re-claimed Ram board.
The ill fitting suit on the left - JD - that you? is just so much ugly that I can't even hear King Charles. Damn it.
So sad about the world and at the same time I am trying to be ok with being happy here and there. Flowers from my husband of three decades and Spring certainly help. How to hold both the evil and the beauty is what I’m struggling with these years.
I'm nominating "flowers" as the symbol of this new resistance. My latest piece "Purple Rain" has both flowers and resistance:
Very serene...Here's a cell pic I took this morning of ice covered trees on my running path.
Purple Rain — acrylic on reclaimed Ramboard. Aprox 34 x 26” (note upper mid-right corner…stay angry and show up wherever and however you can)
Um...this NYT piece on the violence in Minneapolis www.nytimes.com/2026/01/27/u... (sorry can't find the gift article..) My eye caught something from the get go...
I did this oil/canvas painting in 2017. "Containment Contagion" Whilst painting this in 2017, i thought, if these people get another shot at power its gonna be fascism. And here we are. Painting in a private collection.
I'm a painter. My step sister, Galen Cheney is as well and she did this piece early in her career. In 2024 we moved from a huge house to a smaller house. We had this piece hanging on the wall in the foyer going upstairs near the chandelier but now it rests in the entry way of our new house. For now.
Nuremberg. Real footage from 1930's. Nazi lady you might meet at your local grocery store. We are here.
