A second filthy twitch in 10 days saw me add a new bird to my life list. Caught this Hudsonian Godwit at Manningtree on the Essex/Suffolk border. A phonescoped record shot in a strong breeze, but the bird flapped its wings to show the defining grey underwing. #Birds #essexbirding #SuffolkBirds

Good to catch up with the Common Redstarts locally this morning,with this male looking stunning. even better to see at least 3 recently fledged young. Becoming a rare breeder in the East of England. #Birds #Norfolkbirding
The Jackdaws in my garden are entertaining, usually just a pair, but last week 10 of thier "buddies" arrived and for half an hour the air was filled with Jackdaw chat, marvellous! Such intelligent and endearing birds. #BirdOfTheDay #Birds

Led a guided walk @rspbengland.bsky.social Lakenheath Fen this morning, the enthusiasistic group were rewarded by good views of Marsh Harrier, Bittern, Hobby, Sedge Warbler, Reed Warbler, Garganey, Cuckoo and more. All appreciated the work of the RSPB in creating this reserve. #nature #birds

Led a guided walk at RSPB Lakenheath today, had good views of Hobbys, the main target, enabled another guest to see her first Cuckoo, plus sightings of Kingfisher, Curlew, Marsh harrier, Sedge Warbler, Reed Warbler Great Egret, amongst others and a family of Little Grebes. #Birds #Suffolkbirding
