Vermont is not for sale. A Vermont Voter’s Take on PAC Transparency: Aly Richards can also come out plainly and ask those out-of-state PACs to withdraw their ad buys, take down their websites, and social media in support of her campaign.

She has not. She has said she didn’t ask them to involve themselves, but it’s legal. Without an explicit call to stop, Aly has tacitly allowed $200,000 in out-of-state funds to keep bolstering her campaign.

“Legal” isn’t the bar. It’s the floor.

I remember during Civil Unions, people on both sides of the issue told national groups to get out of Vermont. Not because the law required it. Because Vermonters alone should decide Vermont’s future.

Aly says she’ll sign stronger campaign finance laws as governor. Good. But you don’t need to wait for a law to do the right thing right now. According to VT Digger, $230,000 from five donors, four of them out-of-state, is exactly the influence she says she wants to end.

If you’re serious about reform, you lead by example before you’re in office. You don’t benefit from the loophole and promise to close it later.

Say it plainly. Ask them to stand down. #vermont

The level of betrayal that Black Americans have had to navigate in this country is unfathomable. My mother was born in 1969, 4 years after the passage of the Voting Rights Act. My father was born in 1966, which means our (limited) political freedom in this country didn't even last their lifetime. Not one generation of Black people has EVER had full political autonomy in this country.

Trump must be held accountable for his corruption, incompetence, and war crimes. He must be removed from office to restore the credibility of the United States and rebuild our nation for the People and not the Epstein Class of criminals.

Before Trump's war, the Strait of Hormuz was open, sanctions were in place, and gas was $2.39.
Now Iran controls the Strait, sanctions will be lifted, gas is $4.99, 13 Americans are dead, over 300 injured, and the loss of hundreds of billions in aircraft and U.S. base repairs.

The deadline shifts from Trump’s genocide threat against the Iranians to Trump himself: He must resign or be removed.

This statement changes nothing. The President has threatened a genocide against the Iranian people, and is continuing to leverage that threat.
He has launched a massive war of enormous risk and of catastrophic consequence without reason, rationale, nor Congressional authorization - which is as clear a violation of the Constitution as any. Each day this goes on, the risk and criminality of these actions escalate for our nation and the world.
Moreover, this administration's self enrichment, insider trading, and pure corruption off this chaos - from crypto currencies to predictive trading markets to bribe
"settlements" - has placed the Trump administration's pursuit of personal wealth squarely against the wellbeing of our nation and its people.
All of these incidents, and plenty more, have clearly driven our country past the threshold for impeachment or invocation of the 25th amendment. We cannot risk the world nor the wellbeing of our nation any longer. None of these considerations should be partisan, but shared in good faith by Americans of all backgrounds who care for the safety and stability of the United States.
