Closing out a great day at #tcsmug with Mike Terrill walking us through the DeployR Community Edition!
Now we've got @davidsegura.bsky.social talking about all things #OSDCloud at #tcsmug
Things like #tcsmug don't work without awesome sponsors like the folks at @2pintsoftware.com! The one and only Mike Terrill did the sponsor lunch session today.
Next up for #tcsmug deployment day is the one and only "godfather" (as Steve suggested) @niehaus.bsky.social talking Autopilot scenarios.
Great opening for #tcsmug today with the one and only @getrubix.bsky.social Much appreciation for the jokes!
Yesterday my fancy Nixie Tube Clock arrived from Ukraine. I need to find a proper location to showcase it other than this dusty old shelf next to the Ulanzi pixel clock, but it's a fun little device to "pass the time." 😆
As always this community is such an amazing one. For instance, Jim auctioned off his beard for the closing reception, which ended up bringing in nearly $20,000 alone for the charity contribution to Big Brothers, Big Sisters. I think the final total was just over $37,000! 3/4
Sessions were awesome as always, and the ones I was fortunate to be part of were all well-received and engaging. We had a University _group_ on hand for the first time in several years as well, which was awesome! 2/4
A month late to the recap (May was busy), but @mmsmoa.bsky.social at MOA was an outstanding event! It's awesome to get together with folks to nerd out, catch up with friends old and new, and learn/show some cool stuff (I was part of six different sessions through the week which is a bit insane). 1/4
Next week begins #MMSMOA so it's time for this iteration's tag reveal! Fishing bobbers! I've got just over 300 of them to give away, so make sure to find me throughout the week (starting Sunday afternoon) to get yours! Super excited to see everyone again next week!
This morning's report marks my 10th anniversary with #CoCoRaHS. My station also has a rare 100% observation history. I report year-round, but any report is better than nothing. April is competition sign-up month. Rural areas are especially important/needed. Yay for citizen science! www.cocorahs.org
Another great community-focused event, and something I was glad to _finally_ attend! And now...back to the mill, but with a few more tools in the box. 🍻 10/10, definitely recommend if you work in the Powershell, Powershell-adjacent, or DevOps spaces!
Back from a wonderful week at #PSHSummit26. Met up with friends old and new, and picked up neat actionable tips along the way, just as designed. Wound up submitting a lightning demo on Home Assistant stuff (which included a random moustache generator "easter egg"). And took far too few photos. 1/2
I spent part of last weekend prepping preview decks for @mmsmoa.bsky.social, a sign we're getting close to the event!! 🎉 The 2026 MOA tchotchke/tags are printing away. Any guesses what they are this time? SPOILER: they're not tackle boxes like the pictured 2025 tags. ONLY 30 DAYS TO #MMSMOA!
There's a whole lotta really bad stuff happening right now, but one thing I personally look forward to is sharing info at and being part of an outstanding endpoint management community at the @mmsmoa.bsky.social event coming up in May. #mmsmoa
First "open" weekend in a while so I decided to dig into the automation problem that's been perplexing me for some time: Power on/off the TV and the stuff connected to it from HA. TL;DR: I _finally_ figured out the exact ADB command sequence to replicate the non-trivial power action for Fire TV.
We dropped below zero (air temp) around noon yesterday, not likely to climb above zero until sometime tomorrow midday. Had a hell of a ground blizzard for a time yesterday too. ❄️
So until the next time, be careful out there folks! I'm back to rehearsals for my next theatrical event in November, but hope to see many of you again at MOA in May!
As always, the MANY folks behind MMS do such an amazing job. Really adds to the pleasure of being part of this community and definitely a reason the conference is highly-rated. Some goofiness and shenanigans, but ultimately a community of folks doing awesome things! #MMSMusicCity
What a week! Another fabulous @mmsmoa.bsky.social in the books. Picked up a lot of good info, met friends old and new, and had great conversations about real-life stuff with attendees! A little sad to be back home and in "normal" mode again, but looking forward to the next #MMSMOA!
Hanging out on Broadway in Nashville with the Belgians Tom and Kim. Great music and atmosphere! Nice way to come down from the #MMSMusicCity high.
Folks attending @mmsmoa.bsky.social there's still time to get charity raffle entries! You could walk away with my 3D printed ukulele! Don't miss the chance to support a great cause and slay like Dune! #MMSMOA #MMSMusicCity
Fun times with @stelmer.bsky.social slaying on the ukulele! #MMSMOA #MMSMusicCity
Folks of #MMSMOA please sign up for jam sessions! @allwayshype.com and I will be hanging out tomorrow morning and would love to chat...even if you're coming to our session later in the day - pre-seed your questions! #MMSMusicCity
Heading to @mmsmoa.bsky.social next week? Don't forget there's an awesome charity raffle at each event, with lots of rad things to choose from while supporting a great cause! Here's a sneak peek of my raffle contribution for #MMSMusicCity. Yes, it's printed. And yes, it's playable. #MMSMOA
After a couple chaotic months, I spent time prepping for #MMSMusic that's less than a month away! 🎉 Nashville edition tchotchke's are printing, so if you're attending come get one from me! Sadly, the lederhosen aren't coming to Nashville; this clip will have to suffice! @mmsmoa.bsky.social #MMSMOA
The Wheaton PO is too neat a facade to leave the bot's "backside" view as the official record. 😜
It's been super fun to play with the Ulanzi TC001 display with AWTRIX3. I set up NWS alerts in Home Assistant some time ago, but having an automation push the current notification to the display is another useful household thing to show off.
