Had a special moment with my boss's boss for my internship a couple of days ago that I thought deserved to be drawn

Sorry, there aren't any women left in furry visual novels because I put them all in The Hayseed Knight Short, tall, buff, chubby, young, old, Queer, Queer, Queer (But seriously, the misogyny is super real from cis gay men saying my game is not Queer because it doesn't focus on a mlm relationship)

Summary: this reviewer could have left a negative review with their opinion on the story and moved on, but no—Their hand was forced by the game's "veeery progressive devs"' hypocrisy, as apparently the reason for Ader's Southern accent is that he's... "dumb".

Not that he's a farm hand from a foreign province. Not that I'm from the countryside myself and have written him with a rural accent in Spanish too. No; Ader's accent is a malicious act from "you bubble people" to comment on the political leanings on Southern US folk, apparently.

Never before has a German fought so bravely for an American accent, much less one they themselves admit they never cared about.

My sense of style was non-existent; I just colored in whatever way the artist wanted me to. This led to me basically never developing a process, and thus having to relearn how to color from scratch every time. The reviews always mentioned my coloring; but it was never something uniquely me

I started working for Blizzard by the time I was 20. At 21, on March 2017, I messed up my wrist and quit comics; I did continue to take on occasional Blizzard projects for a couple more years, they paid well. By this point, I constantly felt like I'd forgotten how to color altogether

Also colored this other print of his when I was 15. Looking at it 14 years later, I'm absolutely besotted with it, like "yeah, no wonder I became a professional colorist by the time I was 17". I was working for DC comics at 19, I wonder if there were any younger colorists than me at the time.

I actually had a contract with both Marvel and DC comics, but for whatever reason I never actually ended up working for Marvel. I'd always wanted to work coloring on Spiderman. I colored this one Jorge Jimenez print when I was 15 with his advice, and I was sad at the time we never did work together

Ngl I love psychoanalyzing this kind of self-satisfied reviewer that cries woke and tries to disguise it as some kind of social justice they themselves are doing to punish the dev, to somehow "one-up" them at their one game

plainly put, imho what you use is hipocracy and that fact tipped the scale for me to write a review

My reply 1:

So by your own definition, you are assigning me a duty as someone who wants "to progress" in treating others better, though to you that is not important and seen as idiotic, and you decided that by giving Ader an accent I was doing a group you see as looked down upon wrong and you had to address that. You decided to do social justice and punish the game with a bad review for not being... progressive enough?

As I've explained before, if that is indeed your big breaking point: I AM a small town Spanish guy with a countryside accent. In Spanish, I wrote with my own rural accent. In English, I used a Southern accent, based off Alabama specifically, because it's perceived to be "rural" and therefore analogous. I actually had consultancy from an accent coach to make sure the accent was written respectfully from the beginning.

My reply 2:

If that a rural accent is used to show a rural man is what tipped you over after 11 hours reading a story about a farmboy from a different province from the rest of the main cast, that you perceived some strange injustice being done to a group that was marginalized in your opinion, worry not: he sounds like a cowboy because he is a cowboy.

You didn't need to make up a whole thing to get mad over to have an excuse to leave the bad review you wanted, but you did, and it's just that: an excuse to punish a game you didn't enjoy and feel good about yourself.

Hey y'all! It's time again to ask that if you've played The Hayseed Knight and enjoyed it, please leave a Steam review! Yet another negative review crying woke has made the rating go down to 95% because there are so few. It doesn't have to be elaborate, even just Recommended + "I liked it!" helps!

a ton of words for a tiny story
protagonist idiotic and cowardly
barely any likeable character
normaly i wouldn't care to write a review, but since theese ahole devs use (us) southerner stereotype for idiots while beeing *very* progressive, forced a negativ review

My reply: The US southern accent was a shorthand for my own Spanish rural accent, which I'm very fond of! I'm sorry you saw yourself reflected so clearly on it.
