I don't really miss Japan much but I miss my family. And the atmosphere my home makes at different times of the day! I have to plan the trip even though the flight ticket prices have gone up so much since the US and Israel started the war 😢
I'm just halfway through listening to Yesteryear by Caro Claire Burke. I find it quite difficult to keep listening because I cringe too often 😓 Once I was working on my allotment in heat and she was going through the hard labour, I questioned myself why I was doing this to myself 🤣
It was almost full at The House in Plymouth, showing Rose of Nevada by Mark Jenkin with live music! I watched it in a cinema previously but live music in the theatre made it feel so different. #film #RoseofNevada
We finally opened the bottle of sake my husband was given in Japan 7 months ago. It's been moving around in the fridge as it needs to be refrigerated... No special occasion today but I'm happy with any cold drinks in this heatwave 🥵 I may lose consciousness soon if I keep drinking this 🥴 #heatwave
We saw four bees on this one globe artichoke flower 😊 I always think they look like fish swimming among anemones when they just move around in the flower 😆
I saw antelope burgers sold at a local supermarket and I imagined antelopes running around in the UK countryside in this heatwave 🥵 But they are from South Africa. I haven't tried it yet.
A Larkspur Bandana by Purl Soho is coming along nicely 😊 I'm not a fan of pink but this Qing fibre merino single is lovely to knit.
A quick trip to Saltash this morning. Somehow the weather was a bit better than in Plymouth!
We got free doughnuts and half price pasties 😋 Snacks sorted for our train journey! Happy National Doughnut Day!
It's been really hot this week and I wondered if this old man's shiny gold clothes would deflect the heat or not 🤔
I bought a packet of edge paper bookmarks from Wearingeul so that my daughter would use them. Instead, she made her own with her favourite Pokémons 🥰 🥹 娘がしおりを自作して、胸がキュンとした今日。 #books #reading #Wearingeul
I ended up staying up late when I finished knitting and I just had a small ball of yarn left. I thought I had plenty to bind off but I got anxious halfway 😰 but I had about 2 m left in the end! #showmeyourknits #knitting #shawl
Starting another shawl. I need a project I don't have to think too much 😆 I'm physically tired from the allotment work!
It's freezing in the wind to work in the garden but this flower made my day 💞 #gardening
I had coffee while my daughter attended a Saturday club and I saw Morris dancing outside. I knew a couple in one of the groups, who I hadn't seen for 10 years! We will meet up soon again, I hope 😊
Today's special at our favourite Portuguese place was salted cod with fried potatoes. I forgot to ask what it was called, but the cod was so yummy 🤤😋
Nice dinner for Friday. I wanted to try something different, so I made Nigerian-inspired beef stew served with rice, plantain and beans. We also had a chiffon cake for dessert 😋 I feel like I've done enough cooking. I hope my husband will cook at the weekend 😵💫
Leftover yarns and started a granny square blanket. The first three yarns have similar compositions but the current yarn is more springy and the tension is slightly different 😅 Never mind, it'll be a donation to a charity. #crochetsky #grannysquare #blanket #crochet
I'm knitting socks on the train home. I didn't progress much during the trip but I managed to turn the heels and I'm at the gussets now. #knitsky #sockknitting
Daffodils are finishing and tulips started blooming 😊 I'm glad I managed to plant some bulbs last year.
