April 1968, 63rd Street. The building at left once housed the Crown Propeller Lounge (closed 1960 and derelict by this point - far left) and its adjacent liquor store. The entire building would be demolished in 1970, is now site of a CTA substation.
The usual images of Pullman rail cars are of the very ornate coaches from the late 19/early 20 cent. but Pullman's streamline moderne offerings were also exemplary. This is the B&O RR's 'Washington' observation car from 1949 (built in Chgo) j. smatlak photo

I got some of the last-to-be-made Schlitz yesterday (can) and A/B with some that I got the day it was announced that production would cease (bottle). In short, the can stuff (1948 formula) is better than the bottle (60s form.) & hopefully it will get resurrected on a smaller scale
My 'favorite' of the post-config consequences is this: with the new sliplane at DLSD/Hayes, drivers who don't want to wait for the SB light to change get into sliplane, turn right, go west, bang a U across the E/W traffic, then turn right from Hayes onto the Drive and bypass all the waiting dopes

They sure buried the mention of the concerns way far down I'm sure the committee didn't even pause to condsider the second, IMO, fairly important and unaddressed concern (the underlined part)

There's an intriguing set of gravestones in Oak Woods Cemetery. Precisely placed, most death years are between 1914-1926. One stone is completely blank...
