There’s a lot of lucky timing in what you see at Goodwood FOS. Extremely lucky to stumble across the three Ford GT40s which finished 1-2-3 in the 1966 24 hours of Le Mans, at the exact moment Mario, Michael and Marco Andretti were milling around before climbing in.

Like John Surtees, James Hunt and Sebastian Vettel before him, Lando Norris wins the world championship having never led the standings all season...until after the final round.

A dramatic Melbourne showdown; both McLarens off in sudden rain! Lando rejoins quickly & pits, but Oscar’s title hopes are over. Max now leads but pits too late. Norris retakes the lead, Max close behind. Lando holds his nerve to finish just 0.9s ahead, snatching the world championship by 2 points

In China Oscar wins again, taking the championship lead from Max going into the final round. Lando hits car trouble late on and barely holds onto an absolutely crucial P2. Red Bull don’t have the pace and Max is off the podium.

Max fights back in Japan with a win, making the difference on a weekend when the cars are completely evenly matched. A hairy moment on pit exit was aggressive from Max but overly ambitious from Lando. The season’s reaching its climax and the pressure is showing.

In Bahrain Oscar’s victorious yet again. Lando is off his team mate’s pace all weekend, while neither Verstappen nor Red Bull are at their best either. Oscar finally heads the standings, but barely; after 21 rounds, the three rivals are separated by a single point.

Piastri begins a late surge, heading a dominant McLaren 1-2 in Miami before winning in Saudi ahead of Verstappen. The Red Bull driver had a car capable of winning, but an illegal move on Oscar at the start earns Max a penalty he can ill afford this late in the season.

A dominant weekend for Norris in Monaco is followed by a vintage Verstappen performance in Imola; Red Bull finally have a car capable of winning again and Max does just that; his first for nine races.

After starting the season with 10 straight podiums including 6 wins, Max has only scored one podium in the last five races. In Spain his frustration boils over as he deliberately bashes into Russell, earning a penalty and costing himself valuable points. McLaren coast to a 1-2, Oscar leading Lando.
