Data annotation is not a passive process; the data annotator is constantly making microdecisions about how content should be understood and classified. (LFW)
Obviously, annotation would take a million years if we consciously worked through those questions with each selection. So, for me, one of the big efforts of the project was developing a psychological balance between two primary impulses: an anxious desire to double-check and validate with others versus an exhausted desire to just go with the flow and trust the More Product, Less Process approach. (OJR)
The other annotators and I regularly discussed content that could not be neatly classified, and the fact that we would be comparing to newspapers frequently informed our answers; ….. we were not only doing the data annotation for the comparative analysis but also to train the machine learning model. 03 Preserve. Legal deposit of the instruments: model versions, output samples, system prompts, policies.

Equip. Provenance that survives ingestion: passage-level identifiers persisting through pipelines.
05 Govern. A metrology of memory: commons-based institutions maintaining reference compasses.

'What changed from the abstract, and why' is the most Digital Humanities slide ever. So many presentations sharing honestly what didn't work as expected or yield useful results. This one is by Jiwoo Choi (I think) dh-daejeon.vercel.app/abs/65?q=New... (Here, 'bag of words' access was no good)

More #DH2026 travel tips - you need an arrival card even if on UK etc passport. Do it online or ask on the flight. The bus from the airport to Daejeon / Daejeoncheongsa was easy to find. Looks like it runs regularly. Google Translate with pre-downloaded Korean and translating photos also helps!

KPMG has negotiated lower fees from its own accountant by arguing that AI will make it cheaper to do the work, according to people familiar with the matter.
The Big Four firm told its auditor, Grant Thornton UK, it should pass on cost savings from the rollout of Al and threatened to find a new accountant if it
did not agree to cut fees, the people said.

Figures from Ideagen Audit Analytics, which tracks public company disclosures, have shown audit fees continuing to climb as accounting firms ploughed money into Al investments in recent years. Its European survey found average audit fees rose in every country bar one in the previous year.
KPMG's behind-the-scenes argument that new tech could justify a fee cut for its own audit could embolden companies to press their accountants for similar reductions.
Grant Thornton said: "High-quality audits rely heavily on expert human judgment, so our fees reflect both the cost of our people and the cost of the technology that supports them."
