Even Gods Can Die is out now! This book has been in the works for a while, and it's a relief (and anxiety inducing) that it's finally released. Hopefully everyone checks it out (it's on kindle unlimited to save you some money)! Thanks to all the early readers and reviewers!
It's the last day to vote! Anyone (member or not) can vote, so please consider help shape the next installment! 🙏
Even Gods Can Die is if Laird Barron's Blood Standard and Gillian Flynn's Sharp Objects had an emo baby with a dëaṫh and ḋyïnġ fixation.
Part 3 of sea horror book The Burden They Forgot II is live! The third stage has came and now the world will see what has been rought by Laurence...
2 more months until Even Gods Can Die releases on Aug 7th! Trying my best to keep the promo train going, because feels like this one needs it the most. I know readers of melancholy will really enjoy, the sort you finish & you're like, "Damn..." Just hoping the algo lets it seen like it deserves.
Homecoming, my little cult/small town horror book, turns 1 today! It was the first book that began my renewed journey of self-publishing and starting my own imprint. It set the aesthetic for artwork for following releases, too. I hope it will continue to find weird horror readers as time trudges on.
Update about starting weightlifting again and for the first time with an ostomy, a new Patron perk, and what I'm currently working and what's to come in June 🌌
The concept of Even Gods Can Die was actually born from an intro from an episode of X-Files. I wish I could remember the episode, but it wasn't anything amazing. In it, someone is leaning into a car and doing something to someone.
Senor was a short tale about the battle of dark and light in the form of cosmic hair fibers. While the artwork was wonderful—per usual—the story really left me wanting more. It's one of those reads that you start and finish, feeling "just okay" about it.
New updates! Talking about my trip to the Poconos, frustration with travel, and what I'm currently working on. micahcastle.com/2026/05/19/u...
Even Gods Can Die, my crime/thriller novella coming August 7, 2026, needs ARC readers! If interested, download a copy: dl.bookfunnel.com/cjaaqh4nxz
Part 2 of the sea horror/thriller novel, The Burden They Forgot II, has dropped! You can read both Part 1, which is free, and Part 2 over on the P site.
Poisoned Folk Tales edited by A.C. Hessenauer, a folk horror anthology, includes my weird/folk tale about a grief-stricken woman coming upon an old woman in the woods, "The Things from the Woods" Originally published in Flame Tree Press's Weird Horror anthology in '22, I'm glad it's been re-homed.
Even Gods Can Die is a story I didn't or don't anticipate to sell well—it's not horror, nor supernatural. It's a story filled with grief, death and dying. Melancholic but at a thriller pace. Yet, I love it, it's a story I would want to read, so I hope there's others out there like me. See less
EVEN GODS CAN DIE is a melancholic, crime/noir/grief story through-and-through. Best way to describe it is a “sad book for sad people." It'll release August 7, 2026 and ebook/paperback can be preordered now! Artwork done by the amazing Red Lagoe, editing by the equally amazing Rachel Oestreich!
Updates #35 is live, mainly just talking about current writing progress on a few books micahcastle.com/2026/05/04/u...
Pre-orders for Even Gods Can Die are coming by the end of this week 👀
Wouldn't ban this guy tho but God forbid women have cleavage or show their calves
I'm gonna go with like 90/10 because the author seems to have using the same art style since '18. I pixel peep a lot and the other thing I thought was iffy but might be irrelevant/nit-picky was this - just a weird way for one shoe to be tied while the other's laces look entirely different
